I just don't like them when they are predatory, secretive, or dismissive of the MC I am controlling. Since at its core the entire AVN genre is a dating sim, what is the point in being an insignificant part of a relationship, 5th wheel, human dildo?

Anyway, no, my new biggest gripes with this and AVNs lately is the obsession with LI and future LI not shutting up about past and present sexual relationships that any non drooling moron can already deduce. There is no need for Gwynn, mother of two with no husband in sight to tell us what a freeuse cum dump she used to be in the middle of a lewd scene no less. If a new girl deep throats on first date, I can already deduce she has experience in sucking dicks, I do not need to read about how many dicks she sucked, ffs...

Can you imagine IRL, first time you have sex with your new girlfriend and in the middle of the act she tell you that 'Oh, I hasn't been fucked so good since the last time I was gangbanged', or can you imagine going to a hooker and while you fuck her she tells you 'You know who else fucked me as good as you, the guy from 10:30'. Unless you have cuck tendencies and you like hearing details of the girls you enjoy getting fucked by others, its completely off-putting and it serves zero narrative purpose, just making the future relationship with them less desirable.

How the fuck is DPC the only mfer that has gotten how to write literal prostitutes and still have them be fan favorite characters? You can deduce what they fucking do, you don't need them giving detailed recounting of events while salivating at the mouth, you don't need photos, videos, flashback, voyeur scenes to know that prostitutes do what prostitutes do. Basically, he doesn't fucking rub it in the players faces, its such a simple principle, yet it seems alien to most fledgling devs. Cherry on top, this type of monologue/dialogue is rarely behind player choices to ask for these type of details and 100% of the times happen during prelude/sex, for reasons

So, circling back, my question is about the thought process when writing such dialogue/monologue, what does a dev expect the reader to get out of them?! Someone walk me through it all, because it seems pointless at best and unnecessarily shooting themselves in the foot at worse.

AH, that's actually a complaint I've heard less often so far. Obviously, some people are rather upset about hearing about a lover's past sexual experiences, and some people are turned on by it, but there are also people who just don't really care. Like, if my wife told me about some sex move her ex used in a casual conversation about sex, I would probably take it about the same as her telling me about an old job she had at a coffee shop. Now, specifically putting that information into the middle of a sex scene? Uuuhhm ... yeah, I'm gonna have to agree that the only purpose that could serve is for people that are turned on by NTR. That's gonna be hit-or-miss for the audience, for sure.

Not sure whether to recommend something to you based on that pairing. Mythos by Nine Of Swords was originally written as a light-hearted supernatural murder mystery, and the sex scenes were added as kind of an afterthought selling point. The sex scenes are all 100% optional, and the MC can be male or female (alternate versions of the same person). So, it's definitely not a dating sim, per say, but it is a lot of fun, and it's all lesbian if you play female MC.

Isn't this just a byproduct of the post-Patreon purge? The dialog in many of these AVNs has to be "Patreon-friendly" as well.

There's a different level of outrage between "my friend is banging my mom and cucking my own father" and "my friend is banging my sponsor/landlady/whatever."

One is encroaching on your personal life and might cause your parents to get divorced, the other is probably none of your business unless it somehow affects your rent. That makes it hard to find a line of dialog that seems sufficiently serious for one type of relationship, and no big deal or even "I'll play wingwoman" for the other.

It will be a harem game (all games by ICCreations end up being harems), but it's not there yet. As for NTR, it depends on what your definition of that is, honestly. Some of the girls who will be in the harem are bisexual (or maybe lesbians who make an exception for the MC). For at least two of them, they will both be in the eventual harem but continue to be sexual with each other as well. Some people consider that NTR and others do not. It does not have the tag, though, because at a minimum they are not yet in a relationship with the MC, so they aren't counted as LIs currently.

It will take me a while to organize my 400 screenshots, so I will eventually post the typos and bugs on his discord, but anyone knows about this particular one? Did he retroactively added Black as an option and didn't get to update throughout the story? Or its the opposite he forgot to add black in these scenes?

I didn't see that many choices, let alone important ones so far. Its this myth about sandbox being open world, Freeroam, the reality is that sandbox games are kinetic novels with 20 extra unnecessary clicks on top of them. You need items, relationships points etc and the only way to farm them is by going through each storyline, sure you can pick the order sometimes but you can't avoid most of the stuff. This is why I say its an antiquated game design that should have died in the 2016-2017 era of AVNs.

I don't remember, you also like to play monogamy routes? Then its not for you, most relationships and scenes are forced onto you one way, or another, you are given some options to not escalate things, you can avoid creeping on people at night(classic sleep rape, that sort of stuff) but for the most part you are just along for the ride.

The only reason I am putting up with it is because I have been watching the dev' DAZ livestreams and he seems like a decent person, I said I have to do my best to give his game a fair shot, but don't think I will ever support something like this.

Ahh so it's one of those games that's a shame but thank you for the detailed answer friend. And yeah, monogamy is what I mostly enjoy in AVN games, so I think its best if I avoid this.

If you look in \game\images\scenes\scene_oliviasaved there are no black pieces at all. So I believe ICC must have forgotten he had that as an option, and when he made all the various color combinations, forgot to render that one.

_blue, _green, _orange, _purple, _red, _yellow for B's and leaves both.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that Black is the default color (oliviasaved_27.webp) and the color pieces are then supposed to be overlays on top of the all-black background. So it's probably some kind logic error that makes it overlay yellow as the last option instead of having that be "no overlay"

I am code challenged, but from what URM detects, there is a check for red, blue, green, purple, orange and the last one doesn't show a label, so I just assumed it was supposed to be yellow as default. Black is clearly missing at that scene check.

That's the code for the right half. The problem is the last "else" makes yellow the default if every other test fails. There should be another "elif" test for 'YELLOW' and the last "else" should just do nothing since the background is already black.
