I mean I'm glad that fans of that game got it delivered pretty quickly but citing an example of another game, and especially an ESL game (based on the thread screenshots anyways: I consider loli/shota yikes so I don't intend to actually download and play it), being developed in a different amount of time completely misses the point of my post.I didn't wanna reply to this again but Insexual Awakening had less patrons, their Patreon still has less than this game does currently, and they finished their first game in the time this one's taken to get started. Further, they're working on a new one and making steady progress. I don't know how a person actively ignores things being told to them so they can make a point they have no backing for, it's astounding to me actually, but whatever.
Don't get me wrong, I totally understand why people don't get this, because people vastly underestimate how much it costs to develop something. Even the largest hgame patreons (e.g. Insexsity) would struggle to afford a single full-time first-world software developer at market rates, and that's assuming that they didn't have to pay people who do things like run social media, make the art, write the story and dialogue etc! While qualified artists and writers are a bit cheaper, Insexsity wouldn't be able to afford one of each simultaneously, even assuming that they didn't need a developer! I'm just trying to provide some perspective that I don't think the average person here realizes because they have no idea how incredibly expensive development is in the developed world.
At the end of the day you need to choose between games made with relatively poor English/writing which can be developed quickly and cheaply vs games made by English-speaking creators which will be developed slowly and more expensively (as well as various other factors such as animated vs not, 2d vs 3d, art vs text-only, gameplay vs VN, etc), and I'm glad that the community is large enough to accommodate everyone so that people who are looking for different things can all be happy. However, with so many different factors at play it just doesn't make any sense to assume that two games making relatively similar incomes will be completed in similar amounts of time even assuming neither dev is "lazy."
