This is a relatively rare combination of first name and surname for Russians.
UPD: On boosty.to in a brief autobiography (in Russian) the developer talks about himself on behalf of a man. He is a native speaker of Russian language, so he is unlikely to have made such a wild mistake (unless he made a conscious hoax).

As for Vova Putin, my colleague from the university department where I teach has the name Dmitry Putin.

The YouTube link in the OP is the link to several videos about creating the game "Amnesia". So what does the other channel have to do with anything?
