I personally don't like it and am always happy when there are ways around it.

I doubt people go into threads for established NTR games and demand NTR be removed nearly as much as people go into threads for clearly non-NTR games and demand that NTR be added. At most people will ask if NTR is avoidable which I think is as fair as people asking if harem can be avoided.
The addition of fetishes to established games that were never present, hinted at, or planned can ruin the game for people. To use an extreme example, if the MC starting shitting in Alexandra's mouth that would be a huge turn off for a lot a people. I'm sure somebody would like it, but it'd be far more appropriate in a game that was already scat-based.
Hell, I like futa x female and I'm disappointed that there are so few futa x female games with high quality renders and animations. However, I would never ask for futa x female in a game that didn't already have it no matter how much I enjoyed the game and/or wanted to see it.
I don't think that pro-NTR people understand how much of a turn off it can be for some people. It's one of the only fetishes that I genuinely cannot understand how anyone can enjoy and the fact that it is so popular baffles me. To me, NTR makes the MC such a pathetic loser that I lose all respect for him and I get repulsed by his weakness. However, I don't need to understand why people enjoy NTR. I don't need people to feel the same way that I do. I don't need people to tell me why I should like it or me tell people why they shouldn't like it. The point is that just because something can be added to a game that doesn't mean that it should be even if it's just optional. this goes for every tag possible . there will always be people who really want something and people who really dont . the simple solution to this is simply having as many tags as possible while keeping them optional .
its actually between that and incest . if you look at some of the many games tagged with incest they are actually not incest games. incest was added mid-way through due to how much demand there is for it .
the reason i think many people ask for NTR and get their way is because of easy it is to naturally implement it compared to a lot of the other popular controversial tags.
