Version is nothing but a number. No one says that the game has to be final at 1.0, the final version could be 13.87. Or after 0.99 it could go to 0.100, then up to 0.999, then 0.1000

There really is no rule how to do it. Versions are not decimals. A complete version number usually has 4 packs of numbers. One of the latest versions of my main program was something like 2022.23.3.7128 (2022 version, update 23, patch 3, build 7128).
