Why is this showing as newly updated?

Because it's recently had an update. It looks like dev doesn't have a set release schedule, just puts out updates when he's ready - I saw one that came out about 3 days after the previous one. The obvious issue with this is that the updates are really small, and often don't get to the end of the event, but rather stop partway through...

I have no idea why he doesn't hold off and go for a monthly release three or four of his usual releases combined.

Ehh set schedules kinda suck at times yet releasing like a whole 2% update if you can even call it that is even more weird.

fallingbearstudio if you're the dev - I'd strong recommend grabbing a few skins to give some variety from stock g8; right now that sticks out like a sore thumb. I like what I see otherwise though.

I'd rather wait longer and have something to read than this kind of thing where there's absolutely nothing.

I just started this game so I have no judgment on how good it is or isn't but this image had me burst out laughing. It looks like the MC just sat on a small child. What's with his tiny, tiny legs!? I understand that learning to make graphics is hard but that is way too funny.

Say hello to part 7! This part focuses on the aftermath of Claire's date. Claire and Miles talk about what happened and chart a renewed course in their relationship.

This part is slightly shorter - 51 unique renders and about 200 new lines of dialogue. There is some branching that stems from your decisions in parts 6 & 7.

The 51 renders also include 10 animations - the highest in any part so far.

Also, this part includes some maintenance updates. All images are compressed (lossless) which has bought the size of the game down by ~40%. There are also a few minor bug fixes, but everything should be backwards compatible with your earlier saves.

This release also brings the ability to edit the names of any major character in the VN at any point in time. You'll find this option in the Preferences menu. As of now, we have 4 characters whose names can be changed - Claire, Miles, Sam and Anna (Anna has a very short role now but she will be a bit more prominent in further parts featuring Sam's story arc).

Next update, they drive to the supermarket and see a cute guy. Your decisions made here will be quite influential on her conversation with said cute guy

Actual next update, they discuss how they felt about the date, chat with Sam via text (with the option to tell him or not tell him first that she is married, and if yes the option to then tell Sam the husband knows or not tell him). Then swapping a couple of photos and videos with Sam. It's a weird one because on the one hand, this one makes Guilty Pleasure's updates look long, but on the other hand, dev is putting out much more frequent, sometimes weekly, updates.

Sounds like they're definitely going to have at least one more - though it could just be going over to Sam's/Sam coming over to theirs for sex, rather than going out on an actual date first.

I'm curious if any of the decisions you made earlier actually affect this current update and the sex scene/dialogue.

Claire suddenly started trying to make Miles jealous and acting as if Sam was the best thing ever, when I had chosen specifically the "don't try to make me jealous" options. I actually chose the most moderate options just to see the outcome. Curious to choose all the more risque options to see how that changes the current update.

EDIT: from what I can see, absolutely nothing changes from any of the decisions made earlier to this update other than a single comment about her low cut dress and how Sam was staring at it a lot. Everything else is played identically. Not a good sign for people that like choices that matter.

It's lite, but the humiliation is there. If you like it and are expecting it, it can be very hot (think Devon dirty talking in mastering the pink box if you know that game), but it's odd to see forced here, especially when the dev went to such lengths to have so many specific options before the date.

If you like it and are expecting it, it can be very hot (think Devon dirty talking in mastering the pink box if you know that game), but it's odd to see forced here, especially when the dev went to such lengths to have so many specific options before the date.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of any humiliation at all. Yes, I am a patron of MtPB, but Devon never has never said anything humiliating, on my path at least.
