I don't know exactly what other content creators do but I can tell you this:
1) I work 6-7 days a week (Happily)
2) I love what I do. I love animating, I love creating stories, and I love making my cartoons.
3) I DO feel like I owe my supporters content. Why?
4) I am INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL that I am able to do this for a living. YES, IT IS HARD. But is MINE. I will do everything in my power to improve and produce content so that I dont let down the people that support me.
5) I have spent $30,000+ on additional rendering PC's and a fluid simulation PC
6) I pay to hire voice actors, actresses
7) I have had to pay to use a render farm just to correct rendering mistakes
8) I pay people to compose music, sing lyrics
9) I pay people to rig my models
10) I pay a second animator to help speed up my animation releases
11) My work is on my mind virtually 24/7. I live, breath, sleep, and eat thinking about my work.
12) I took a big risk and quit a steady "safe" job that provided a decent income and health insurance for my mom and I.
13) I spend and I have spent hundreds of hours learning, watching tutorials, and trying new things to improve my work.
The bottom line is, this is NOT easy or SAFE by any means. Animation is HARD + time consuming. Rendering can be HARD + time consuming. Fluid simulations are HARD + time consuming. The worst part is, if you mess up any one of these, the other 2 are somehow affected. Also, you have to assume he makes mistakes along the way and has to go back and correct them. Oh yeah and we are at the mercy of the Platforms we are on. At any second they could say BYE! GTFO Patreon!
Based on the quality of his content, reading his posts as a supporter, and some conversations I have had with him, I do feel that Animo has a very strong work ethic. I can tell you that a lot of the stuff he does takes a lot of time, patience, attention to detail, and artistic skills. OH YEAH and he is ALSO making a video game. THIS MAN IS WORKING!
I am not saying every content creator, or even Animo, is a work a-holic, but I can say there is a reason he is so well supported. It is because he truly does create really interesting, sexy, lengthy, well animated scenes that virtually no one else in the WORLD does.
Think about that. There are what, 7 BILLION people on Earth? And he is the ONE PERSON making porn at a truly high level, over an extended period of time, in his genre.
I personally feel he has far and away earned his support.
