Any Reason why very few games have sex sound?

That's the issue.

It's cheap and easy to rip sounds from a porn movie but they sound terrible in a game. Getting a voice actress to do the sounds can cost an absolute fortune depending who you ask.

If you are lucky you can find some women willing to do it for free/cheap to add to their portfolio but they don't tend to be as enthusiastic sounding as some of the more professional women.

On the other side if you look to hire someone like VoiceLikeCandy she charges $50 for 2 minutes and then $10 per minute after that. If you have a game with a few hours worth of dialogue it's going to get costly.

Don't get me wrong, she's worth it I think. She has a pretty sexy voice and she's good at what she does as are a lot of the women I hear that do voices for things like LoversLab mods, SFW animations and some of the larger games.

It's a tough thing for new devs just starting out. They don't exactly have any platform to offer recognition for new voice actresses and they may not have the funds to hire a professional. They are usually left with friends and while they sometimes sound great it's hit and miss.

It's a lot of effort and cost for little payoff.

Thanks for the replies, kinda surprised so many dislike sex sound effects. I guess i see why few game developers add it, lots of work and few people who actually enjoy it.

I had only compliments for the sex sounds in my game, most people actually preferred sounds in it and said it was more immersive. So I wouldn't take the opinions gathered here as representative of the gaming community...

I think one of the big reasons is that erotic games tend to rely on images and text to summon forth arousal. Using sounds like moans, etc, can seem disjointed attached to either of these. Imagine how immersed you get in a good book/comic. Now picture that the book occasionally plays sounds that represent things happening during the paragraph you're on. If the content is good you're probably building that picture in your mind anyway and the sounds do more to distract than add. From a distance the sounds seem like spice but in actuality they're grains of sand.

That being said, there's always room for exception and all the power to those who do. You could also end up in a situation where sex sounds make up for lousy writing or otherwise mediocre art. Or maybe you're just someone that's really into audio, who knows.

With animation and video it's a different story but then there's a cost/quality issue which some other people have pointed out here. A lot of people who make these games are hobbyists or starving artist types who can't devote too much in funds to something that sound believable or professional.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

I also been wondering this for a while. amazing games like milfy city and summertimesaga does not have any sex sounds which is a huge blow to the game in my opinion. I rarely download game without sound. Any sound is better than no sound but i do think there might be exceptions to that like many cartoony type adult games with really bad looped sound. I would love to see more games with sound. One of my favorite games with sound right now is Treasure of Nadia

After having my eardrums blown out by menu music a couple times I just automatically mute games now, so I don't know that I've ever played a game that had sounds. I definitely feel like it would be weird though.

Few voice actors get it right, then few devs add the right amount, and fewer still match the sound well with what's going on in each scene.
Even Japanese Seiyuu sometimes sound like a banshee, and often their devs also fail to add the right amount of sex sound and to match it well with the scene, which turns overall sex sound experience into a sound-induced cancer that actually contributes to turning you off instead of on.

Anyway, west is still rather new to this whole porn gaming thing, so if you care about sex sound a lot your best bet would be playing Japanese games, they care quite a lot about sound and vocals.
