Seeking Any similar games to Claire's Quest that can compete with it?

Is Claire's quest the best game of it's kind?
Other tips of the same general type of game (can be a little different as well, but not a pure VN) and quality?

I'd like to bump this one to ask for it as well, I've been looking a lot but there isn't really much that comes close. (other than of course Overgrown: Genesis by the same dev)
I'm looking for: the same high quality 2D art style (though there are some nice 3D art games as well, a lot is copy paste or low quality renders)
Some nice gameplay (so no boring VN)
Progression that makes sense
an interesting, different story ( preferably nothing 'modern day')
Ideally, female protag and corruption

Karryn's Prison is a good option though, it ticks a lot of the boxes.

Third Crisis is definitely nice! But needs more polish and needs to slim down on the time wasting & walking simulator Definitely one I'm gonna be playing again though. Had not seen Defenestration, will check, though don't like the look of the MC at first glance.

Started to play Holy Knight Ricca from that list and so far I can definitely agree with his top three S tier platformers
