Hi everyone, dev of the game here.
I initially made the thread in the Programming, Development and Art board because the game is being worked on atm. Not sure why it was moved to an official game thread here.
I can't upload the most recent version here because the file is too big, but the most recent version is on my itch io page. Which anyone can download for free. You can also play it in browser without downloading.
I've actually done 2 releases since making the thread, one was a hotfix to a bug and the other was a larger release which I did on the 9th, just didn't upload them here. I've combined the changes including this current release below. The game should be in a more stable state.
I think I should've done more to specify the fact that it was in a very unstable state on initial release (and still is). Thanks for the reviews, I really appreciate them. Definitely looking for some feedback as it was just a personal project of mine for a while with me being the only person testing and playing it. I'm doing everything solo, so updates and features take a while. I'm trying to put out updates once a month at present.
This is the first month of the game being public.
Month of April updates
Visual updates
- Added icons to the global map to showcase areas you can actively access.
- Updated the toilet and sink sprites in both apartments. The old ones were created a while ago. The sprite update includes updates to sprites that use the old sprites.

- Added pressed sprites to each ui button.
- Changed position of highlighted buttons for ui buttons so they move up when highlighted.
- Changed the highlighted sprite for the tutorial "?" button to have a special outline.
- Fixed the drinking bubble sprite being slightly different from its disabled position.
Tutorials
- Added a tutorial on how to progress through the game, which appears after starting a new game and getting past the intro.
- Updated the talk to Dae tutorial to use more recent sprites.

Tooltips
- Updated the tooltip sprite.
- Added tooltip to the bed for each time of day.
- Added tooltips for HUD elements.
- added tooltips to show unimplemented features in order to not confuse players.
- Added tooltips to the Dreamworld confirm and reset buttons.
- Added tooltips for all tutorials.
Bugs
- Fixed a bug where music from the previous scene plays when entering the restaurant.
- Fixed a bug where the flashing screen didn't occur when completing the door lock event.
- Attempted to solve the arrow match minigame issues.
- Fixed bug where the HUD wasn't updating after finishing the arrow match minigame.
- Fixed bug where un muting music would set the volume back to full.
- Fixed bug where starting a new game didn't reset values.
- Fixed bug that allowed you to load a save that didn't exist from title screen.

- Fixed a bug where you had to move a every puzzle piece even if a piece started in the correct place in order to complete the puzzle. (re-wrote the checking functionality).
- Actually set music for the restaurant scene this time.
- Disabled bartender interactions when in the doorlock event.
- Fixed issue where game stays paused if you hide the file dialogue window accidentally by clicking off of the window (downloaded version only).
UI
- Added the ability to scroll in any direction by hovering the mouse at the side of the screen. Giving you an alternative option to position the camera.
- Removed some of the unimplemented h scene UI features in order to not confuse players.

- Fixed map and apartment selector windows overlapping, now windows are closed when other ui windows are opened.
- Fixed file explorer appearing behind shop ui.

I feel like the game may have made a bad first impression due to how buggy it was, so a huge thank you to those who are still keeping their eyes on this project.
