When a Person is closer to the Aperture they appear higher in the image. But you should already kind of have an intuition for that.
Also, they're AI images, so if you want to enjoy the game you will always have to have some willing suspension of disbelief. But it's probably possible to do some analysis of how high the train cars/top handrails are in Japanese metro trains, and get a height from there. I don't think the guys are all 190cm based on that.

Aperture Chapter 2: Progress Update #2
Greetings everyone.
It's been a bit more than a week since my last progress update. I have been super thorough with my plot outline which has exceeded more than 3000+ words by itself. So I can only imagine how many words the dialogues would come to.
I think it's safe for me to say that I'm writing nothing short of a short movie in this chapter. Without overselling it, this chapter will contain:
1: A lot more worldbuilding.
2: Spicy situations.
3: A darker tone and themes overall.
A lot will happen in this chapter. The first thing being introducing our Second Antagonist:

While he looks like a generic cocky dude, I aim to give him some depth, humanize him and make him a compelling character overall.
Before we continue, let me give you the progress % for the people not that interested to read the whole thing. .....
Progress:
The outline is taking more time than usual since this chapter is looking to be 2-3 times bigger than Chapter 1. By next week's progress update, you should be seeing progress on all fronts!

Welcome to The Downtown District. The name is a bit misleading as this is actually a City within a City. A place filled with secrets, shady establishments, mobs, gangs, and an ever decreasing presence of law enforcement. Our protagonists Rin and Keita will be thoroughly exploring this place together to find something specific for her Photography Competition.
This city is no joke, and things can go really bad if they're not careful.
Speaking of law enforcement, let me introduce another special character!

I hope she's intriguing as a character. The $5 Patrons voted on this name, Noriko. Which means: "child of the law" or "child of principles". The name reflects values of order, guidance, and adherence to established norms.
(Pretty fitting name if I say so myself.)
Anyways.
I've been rambling quite a bit. Hope this info can inspire some speculations and conversations regarding where the story will go. We do a lot of story discussions and more on my Discord ^^!
Chapter 2 will make a lot of progress in it's story and really get things moving. It's super ambitious and I want to do it properly. Please support me however you can!

He's the main antagonist's progeny, and as such displays similar physical characteristics, such as a darker complexion and a smooth reflective scalp.

So, not to be that self rigteous prick, and I don't want to insult you in any way. but...
A little over a week ago the dev posted a very substantial progress report, with a timeline and some character previews, which is something we shouldn't get used to, since it's probably a big time sink for them. But that's somehow still not enough? Not to mention it's the middle of summer, by a single dev making a game in their free time, for free.
Plus the dev reads this conversation( they made the thread and everything), I don't think anyone enjoys being rushed.
Apologise for my rudeness... guess i am just excited to see more of the game haha. In my head i thought development would be faster because it's AI, but ofc this dev probably has a day job and a life outside of this project. Doing it all for free too... must be a total passion project.

He said that he will update soon this week. Chapter 2 is twice big as 1, so it's taking a little time. But with his new GPU, the quality will also increase. Also getting excited and asking how's the update coming along is not a bad thing (as long as its respectful). So don't feel sorry about it.
I didn't consider that chapter 1 was the proof of concept and then now he has the time and support to go bigger and better. You bring up good points! How would a new GPU increase quality? i know that AI uses gpu to generate the pics but does this mean higher resolution, more detail, more accuracy? Or just faster time to create the art?

Well it's faster but it's very important, let me explain it:
Now with new GPU (RTX4070) he can create more CG's and images. So if he is not satisfied with an image he can produce more until he is satisfied , but earlier he has to be careful since there was a limit to he can produce (RTX 2060 slow render, ). Also this means now he can produce more images like more costumes etc. With AI, there is no limit to what costumes he can produce (the shared discord images are proof). Overall, his productivity is improved, which will lead to faster as well as high quality updates. From high quality means now he can produce multiple images faster and choose the best one, rather than satisfying with mediocre.

Coming to the art, I am happy to share that I have massively upgraded my Graphics Card! For AI art, your graphics card directly correlates to how fast you can create and develop artwork. I was using a RTX 2060, which might as well be the slowest one out of the bunch. Now, I have purchased a RTX 5070 thanks to the reception of the game and your support on

Now, for the crux of the matter, what everyone wants to know.
I plan to release it by the end of this month. Due to me wanting to not delay the project too much by implementing all sorts of game mechanics, I'm gonna take it slow and implement stuff slowly. So probably the Status Screen mechanic won't be there in this chapter.
I'm just a solo dev so I'm still figuring a bunch of stuff out all on my own. If any of you are good at Python, Ren'Py etc, send me a DM!
I'll be posting some exclusive art teasers in the coming days for Ch.2 for our paid members. Until then, please enjoy this spread of Rin!
