Ren'Py - Apocalust [v0.07] [Psychodelusional]

I didn't want to give this game such a low rating tbh.
Honestly I never write reviews for anything, ever. But this game made me want to write a review (more of a rant really). It was my own mistake to jump right into this game without checking out all the screenshots and reviews. But that wouldn't have mattered anyway because all the renders look amazing. I got click baited by Liora (the sister)
I find almost every character ugly in the game except for Liora and Naomi (the fatty's mother I think) everyone else is just plain ugly. I'm sorry but to me the face of the characters matter the most, I don't care about the story/plot of most games if the characters are good looking enough. Looks are completely subjective. While I find most characters repulsive, others might find them attractive. (I just wanted to rant about these character designs first, now I'll talk about the rest of the game but I'll continue this topic again at the end).
I have to give my respect and admiration to the creator for these renders and animations, they are simply put amazing and beautiful. One of the best if not the best at the time of writing this. Especially with the 4k mod this game is just breathtaking. But unfortunately that's the only good thing about this game.
Now for the story/plot (until v0.05). I'll be honest I zoomed past every dialogue, so take this with a grain of salt. From the brief glimpses at the dialogues I felt the story/plot of this game to be mediocre/subpar. I don't pay much attention to dialogues in most games but I had to in this game because all the character designs and faces repulsed me so that was the only reason I could zoom pass the game.
There is not much variety in any of the sex/nude scenes in this game(v.005). You might have noticed how I used the phrase 'nude scenes' in an adult game, obviously there will be nudity but that's the only thing that was prominent, there was hardly any actual sex scenes. While I do understand that this is still early in the game and based on the level of detail and quality of these renders and animations it will take a lot of time a effort, it's just mostly only undressing and grinding.
Lastly I would like to say that this game had so much potential but it was ruined by extremely bad character designs and ugly faces. I get that this is a MILF focused game but I would have liked to see at least one good looking/attractive milf in this game. But instead they look ugly and all have the same body type, come on at least the creator could have added a little variation in the size ratios. All the MILFs have enormous tits and unattractively massive asses (with ugly faces. Sorry to bring it up again).
The one scene I was looking forward to was also ruined. The only good looking and extremely attractive character in this game (Liora - sister) was defiled and ruined by the creator because they added the repulsive and ugly Evelyn into the scene with Liora. I would like to apologize for the MILF hate but they were almost the exact opposite of my tastes in both faces and body ratios. I would suggest that you instead watch the gameplay videos or wait until the game is completed or abandoned to play it. And only play this game if you find all the characters attractive, if not then, it ani't worth it.

Apocalust [v0.05]

This Is the New Standard for Renders, and Ren'py Games IMO.
the MCs timidness and Usefulness of his power are my only concerns.
I loved the version i played enough to become a Patron, Im excited to see how the next Chapters unfold.

I really liked this. It ticked off a bunch of my kinks, so keep that in mind; your kinks may vary.
The good:
-LOTS of animation, with nice attention to detail. Lots of nice jiggling and "soft" flesh," and not just cycles of sex repeating endlessly.
Pretty good models.
-Lots of upskirts, nipple slips, subtle cheeky moments. Personally, I hate the narrative goes from zero to hardcore sex. I like the cheeky peeks, the innocent misunderstands, the foot massages that go a little too far.

The Bad:
Not really a game. More of a VN.

Ease up on the lips. All that duckface makes some of the ladies look like they're having an allergic reaction!

The IDGAF:
Honestly, I blasted through most of the text. The story is basic and easy to follow, even while skimming at max speed. And I'm not here for a complex plot! Just coy, sexy moments with coy, sexy ladies.

Definitely looking forward to future updates

I'm gonna rate this game as "good", so 4 stars. However, without the animations, it would easily be a 2. The animations are great - but honestly, they're what saves this game. The story is hard to follow, and the writing is a bit wonky at times. However, during the scenes, the writing is pretty well done. The dev is obviously very skilled at creating animations, and I hope he continues to learn.

Great drawings. Sexy characters. I often pay attention to sexy clothes, this doesn't disappoint at all. Story: maybe a little complicated but this isn't make a game weak. Overall: waiting for more and please make it sooner ;-).

THE most promising game there is with a great future if it's executed correctly. The graphics where do I start? they are out of this world. I can't even think of anything to compare the graphics alone with. The games a bit short atm but I'm sure the dev of dark neighborhood (another one of my fav game i'm a bit biased) has it all in the bag.

This is.....awful

There is not much more I can say about this game unfortunately, the "story" is a mess without much sense, the dialogue is atrocious without interest, the characters are superficial and obnoxious, the renders are ok... if you like bimbos ....

That's all, there's not much I can say and to be honest I don't find anything good about the game, I firmly believe that this would work more as a porn comic since it's only good for fap and that's it, but as a game it's really insufferable. I would not recommend this game even to my worst enemy

This game is hard to rate right because it shows you it's entire deal in the first minute yet you have to see all of it. For the animated renders of course, nothing else.

The story idea is interesting, but with how apparently slow the development is with such 11/10 animated rendering in every single scene, how slow the whole pace is, and how poorly written it is, there isn't much interesting dialogue to read or story to enjoy.

You got a big dick, you find a way to rub it against everyone and eventually fuck them. If less scenes were animated I'm sure we could have a much bigger story, but the writing definitely needs improvement. The dev certainly is a master of whatever tools they are using to show us these.

So, definitely worth it for the hot renders and nothing else.

This is a high quality VN, that has believable characters, that are unique and well written. The storyline is quite short at the moment, but has the potential to become absolutely fascinating.
I have started supporting this developer on Patreon as I believe this game is going to be one of the best VN's we've had in a while.
[Edit] It was refreshing to see that the developer creates their own assets and characters in the game...no rehashed environments or characters you might have seen in a dozen other VN's!

Pros: The visuals and animations. Seriously these are top notch and really fun to look at. It's the only reason this game is getting 3 stars instead of 1.

Cons: Everything else. The story is very disjointed, rushed, and lacks cohesion at this point. Characters show up without any kind of proper introduction. It's like 3 separate games pretending to be one.

I was also surprised at how little content there is for being nearly 2 years old, I assume it's due to the time it takes to do the visuals.

Frankly this game makes me sad, because the Dev is a very talented artist. I wish they would partner up with a writer who knows how to write a proper story because as of right now the game is a waste of potential.

If you want a fapfest, well I have good news for you because that's all this game is right now. Even then, there's too many Milfy characters and they all throw themselves at you, there's not much build up. If that's the your thing fine, but I really wish there was more variety and I wish it was a bit more of a slow burn. do like that there's some pubic hair, that's nice to see.

Overall, meh.

I am still amazed by how visually engaging this game is. I cannot stress that enough. There are other games with animations though well rendered are meh and doesn't connect with the players. This one though not only lets you feel the mood but takes it a bit further. The angles are original and engaging too.

The story is fine. The developer knows what his objectives are with the porn game and doesn't try to do more than necessary.

Game mechanics is straightforward though I noticed a few unnecessary clicks and mechanics. It's not bad and it's original but unnecessary.

This is a 4.5 for me, a game and a developer with so much potential. I can't wait to see more.

I started looking at this work because the other work that the author had already done was a work of God.
I was shocked after seeing the new work. It is no exaggeration to say that this work uses full animation.
Compared with the author's previous works, the images and animations of this work have made a qualitative leap. It shows that the author is not just out to make money, but genuinely passionate about creating.
The author's previous works have been plump and seductive, but the bodies of the women in this one are even more stunning.
If I recommend it, I can only say that the highlights of this work must be played by yourself. Innovative full-course animation, no sandbox and no numerical decisions to embarrass you.

I will start with the only good point of this game, the renders and the cinematics, this game is like a giant cinematic, everything is constantly moving.
Now the bad points, everything else.
Here we have the standard story of this type of game, same kind of perv MC with a giant dick and all.
Tons of fake choices, the game is completly linear...the player sometimes has to interact clicking in a specific spot, but theres only one spot to click and if you dont click you'll not advance...makes no sense adding this feature tbh.
In 2 or 3 instances you choose between "lust" and "love" but this will not change anything important.
You cant choose which Love Interest MC will pursue, or if you want or not to peep and see 2 other characters fucking, or if you want to see or not the wet lesbian dream of a chick and obviously theres no story branches.
I was really hyped with this game but what i got was a 100% linear "game" with a story on the level of a "BangBros" porn movie.
If you are the kind of player thats happy only with good renders/animations, dont care about story and dont mind 100% linear games with no real choices... go for it.

Visually it's stunning. The animations aren't incredible but the renders are. The story is fairly interesting as well but it seems there should be more content for how long this game has been in production. I hope some of the other comments aren't true about the creators just looking to milk money out of this game because it really could be a great one. In terms of other improvements, it would be nice if more decisions were included and they actually mattered. In its current state its more of a VN.

Honestly one of the best Ren'Py games ive played. Renders were beautiful, animations were great, story was interesting, pacing was pretty well done, and over just enjoyed everything about the game. I cant wait to see more!

I played the previous version that came before this one and I was stumped for words. I must admit that the graphics in RenPy have came a long way since 2018 and this game is a perfect example of it.

Well, that's about it. I can't find any tethering point in the story, character, their arcs and the MC which would make me go through the stunning visuals. It's as if someone gloss packed a piece of dead flowers, sent with express delivery with a string quartet. You're overwhelmed by the gesture and you open up the package trembling with excitement only to summarise your shock in 2 words; "Oh, crap!"

You can polish a turd but its still a turd.

This "Game" is nothing more than a scam. plain and simple, you may see top tier renders and "animations" which are for the most part just swaying backwards and forth but at the core it is not a game at all, its just a short on rails demo that give you the illusion of choice.

I can't say I dont respect the hustle these guys are doing because its clear they are making bank while taking an absurd amount of time to release a chapter.

Also the story for whatever the hell they are trying to make it as makes absolutely no sense what so ever so far its like they are not even trying haha.

Sound: 7/10 [ I expect a little more in the future (e.g. better slap sound) ]

Graphic: 10/10 [ It's magnificent, nothing to complain about]

Update time : 9/10 [It's require a long time, but it's worth it, especially if the dev is alone]

In the end 5/5 because above the average.

It has no story and no "real" interaction with the characters.

The art in general is very good, but the UI is poor.

It's been in development for three years now, but the "game" is nothing more than a demo so far, so it's not a real "game".

I enjoyed its first VN, so I have hope that this VN will have a good future.
