Genuine question, did you expect this game be "this well received". I mean it's not the biggest thing but I sure think it's doing quite well for what was supposed to be a test game originally. Espeially since it's clear it's not your main focus, I'd say it's doing pretty well.

I'm mean I didn't think it would be poorly received. But I am glad that most comments are positive at least now. At the start I had you typical I should make it a male MC or somehow give the option people complaining about the futa content and that I should make it optional. People saying there wasn't any story and there was no build up to the sex. People complaining about the lack of choices something I find funny because in the dog days of summer thread all I saw for a long time were people complaining about there being too many choices.
But at least recently i dont see that much any more and it honestly wasnt as bad as i had expected it to be.
i have a feeling thar will not be the case with our other game.
the futa content will be not the next update but the one after. This update is going to be the date.

honestly VN's like this one benefit from being kept simple, I cant count the times Ive found an interesting VN for there to be a bloat in mechanics or choices that lead nowhere but exist anyway, but you have my attention with this one and the main project and hope your visions for both are realised looking forward to more.
I'll try and see what the other game's abt even if I'm rly rly not a fan of these trainer/grind games bc they make the story feel less "smooth" lol.

Thet game was litteral labyrinth I swear. at 1st I was like oh man this is good 2 path a dom and sub one you don't see that often with female protag/lesbian games. But then dev/s went and included some characters possible like this some possible like that some paths only if a rly set number of conditions were reunited. I was like hell nah this is too much, even for me. I got the feeling of missing out on a lot when seeing the coms.
I separate choice in 2 categories, the ones affecting the story and the ones affecting the relationships. Smt both are correlated. I most often prefer the 1st categorie. In the 2nd I just wish to atleast, at the very least get the choice to act dominant or submissive. Then there is wether I actually want that character, but this is next lvl (usually it's multiple choices during the story that will determine wheter you like a character or not). Like "return the kiss", "avoid it" ; "spend time with her", "go home and play with yourself" lol then at some point you get the "ultimate choice" of wether you want a relationship with her or not.
I think you got the gist of it. Honestly in most games Idc if there isn't choices abt making relationships with LIs optional. I mean this is an AVN you are supposed to have the most fun you can have lol. However, I can still feel for the monogamous guys, plus smt some LIs are rly hatable lol.
The ultimate AVN for me would have all of this reunited (kinda like Having A Hard Time for now). Only weakness is the story being "simple" for now
Dog days of summer not only did that but added on top some hidden paths not being available if you didn't do certain things in the game then if you missed on them you'd miss on more things later on... It rly went in all the directions. For a harem type of game, I don't think it looks good, when players aren't able to romance all the characters they'd like. Plus this separation made some players frustrated bc their paths wouldn't get anywhere for multiple updates.

I agree to disagree. I will always respect smn trying to satisfy a lot of ppl even if it ends up being sh1t. Most of the time it's bc they aren't organized. I rly wonder how many of them have actual separate notes for each of their chacater and main storyline. Yk to keep track of paths, plot, conditions... How many of them actually have beta testers? I'm sure they could acquire one or more quite easily among their community (for free at that).
But rly most of the time games only need 2 paths, dom/sub. Idk why some devs be overcomplicating it mixing both lol. Sure it gives the feeling to have complete control over your mc but if you don't have the discipline to keep up with it, then just don't lol.
Yk, VN games are one of the rare "support" that lets you satisfy multiple niche with one project.
For exemple when I play a game like this where there's only one path but it is one I like. I always think abt the guys who would have prbbly enjoyed all that if the MC got a sub path (for exemple in this case).
I can't count how often it happened to me, you find nearly the perfect game checking most of your boxes. However it ends up not checking that one box you needed dom/sub. Let's be honest, nearly all players go to one team or the other, if you satisfy both, you're nearly assured to have all the niche for you be it, futa protag players/male protag players/female protag players...
Hey Romenjack I hope you don't find what I'm saying offensive. It's just the way I feel abt things. I still think this game's great and has a lot of untapped potential. You could litteraly go in any direction you want with this one (orirgin story of the book, the book being a way to strengthen a portal to another realm the more you use it, the book being an entitiy itself... so many possibilities, I wonder where you'll go with it). Plus this was a test game to begin with so I just felt lucky it was done this well.
Now abt the mechanics, I completely agree with you I rly don't get why some devs lose soooo much time on that. lol

I've started working on it. But I still haven't decided on how indepth I want it to be. The easiest is of course just having a very linear story. But I also think it might be fun for a choose your own date. Have ariana decide where to go on the date like the movies or the arcade does she bring flowers or some other gift. All choices will have a happy ending but some ending will be more 'happy' then others.
I know it's been a while since the last update and while I do have a few peripheral scenes finished(another dog scene) and I've done a lot of the prep work outfits locations dialog, I havent started the date proper yet. Mostly because I was nose to the grindstone with our other game which I'm happy to report is really coming along now.
All that to say... I hope tobhave it out sooner than later but any time frame would be a guess at best amd I don't want to set false expectations.

Choose the one you think is best or if you can't decide between two choices offer players both. Rather quality than quantity.
You can go with one "happy" outcome and only the date itself would be different and save the other "happy" scenes for later use. Let me start with that in my opinion this is amongst the most beautiful games that I've seen here. The chicks are absolutely gorgeous (Mom's lingerie is as good as any that I've seen and much better than most). The flow of the story works well for the most part- there's no angst about the lesbian sex or the incest; the characters are okay with it and just get right into it and ENJOY it for what it's worth. (I find it DAMN refreshing in that aspect!) And with only 6 characters (not counting the dog), there's not the usual character clutter that is so prevalent in most of these games. And there's no DAMN frustrating mini-games!!!
I just have some MINOR nit-picks:
- I'm not a fan of the Yakuza-style tattoos. However, I will admit you make them look beautiful.
- I much prefer Ariana's original hairstyle. The new hairstyle is just TOO short and the way it hangs en mass on one side of her face makes her head look off-balance. Mom's shaved pussy doesn't look right either. Was she shaving it for her bf, and then stopped on Ariana's order?
- Ariana really should have gotten involved with the dog herself.
- I would like to see Felicia involved in the action (redheads in glasses are a major fetish of mine). Being a Puppet-Master does not become her. She just needs some convincing.
One thing story-wise does worry me concerning future developments:
- Ariana developing second thoughts about her actions was fine to a point (a character that questions their morality usually makes for a more interesting story), but I starting to think it's going TOO far. She started the landslide, and it's too late to have regrets.
Anyway, good luck with your game. I'm looking forward to see more in the future. I really want to see how the date with Cara develops and more hot sex with Mom. Maybe a 3way with Mom and her daughters? Maybe Felicia will find her own True Love with canine cock??
