You know I noticed something in the prologue that doesnt quite make sense. They sell her for 30,000 gold. Meaning the Master paid 30,000 for her and she must pay off that amount to gain her freedom. If the Master paid that and then also needs to pay for her accommodations theres no profit off the investment and all the slave immediately become a depreciating commodity. Even with the customers possibly paying a house fee before choosing a girl I find it hard to believe that it would justify the huge upfront cost of purchasing the slaves to begin with.
