and dropping. as soon as the main antagonist declared his intention and "humans are the superior race!!!1" yeah that just killed it for me. fight scenes in VNs are just not it for me.

as soon as a fight scene starts you just know who will win so that just means tons of garbage text. next is the characters and oh boy they're so template its not funny. from the starry eyed workmates to the resident token oneesan/imouto to the cool and mysterious cafe owner.

it's like I'm reading a very generic manga with scores of 3.x/5 on mangareader or something.

Did you launch the game through Game_Launcher file properly?

Hey there, I´m at the end of my wit here. I tried all the things... locations, locale, admin, compatibility, the save.rar file, looking online...
I just cannot get it to work...
I´m constantly running into the "load file: file的open失败了 file："bg\黑.lsf" 是什么问题" error.
(My whole system incl. non-uni is in JP, but it still is not displaying the JP characters in this message. What font do I need? Last thing I haven´t tried)
What else can I do? Has anyone made it work?
I just want to read this novel man...

Would appreciate any tip. thx

How about trying something different? Here is an original japanese version without any english patches:

Try installing that first and see if it works or not.

Edit.
Also, did you try doing those 2 things?
1. changing the time zone setting : Control Panel → Clock, Language, and Region → Region and Language → Format → Format (F): → Japanese (Japan)
2. changing system locale: Control Panel → Clock, Language, and Region → Region and Language → System Administration → Language for Non-Unicode Programs → Change System Locale (C)... →Japanese (Japanese)

Then running the game through the aristear.exe file?

thank you so much for the detailed answer!
I had already changed the non unicode language to JP - however I didnt untick an beta button for UTF8 international setting in regions. That one fixed the kanji display problem and now it is working as it should. (JP and EN ver.)
It´s always the small things to overlook...

Oh, that thing. Yeah, IT completely messes up Japanese games so it should be disabled.
