It's very probable that you encountered the same issue as I did.
In my case, the launcher wasn't actually stuck or frozen it just took a long time to load, roughly about a minute.

See my earlier post and its reply chains for reference.


The game works well despite having to wait a lot to launch.
I encourage you too to wait even if the window appears to be unresponsive as you may have the same problem.

Left it running for almost a hour though. I've got a good laptop so maybe AA is too old for it I guess?

An hour is definitely abnormal. I can't comment on extremely new PCs but I think AA should still work just as well.
I assume you ticked the "win10fix" in the scripts tab.
Did you install the things from the "extra" folder? DirectX, VC_redists and the Windows Desktop Runtime?
I'm not knowledgable on really new systems, but it's not strictly impossible that newer versions of Runtime are incompatible with AA2Mini. As for DirectX, I don't think you need that specific version which is bundled with the game as I have DirectX12 and the game runs fine with it, but if you're out of options then installing that over your current one is one possibility.
If those don't work, I recommend checking the install guide, maybe it says something that I missed.

Also, do you get an error log? It's in *\AAUnlimited\logfile.txt
If you tried everything else, maybe it helps in identifying the issue.

So I’m having some trouble verifying that mods are actually working in my game. Everytime something says it’s loading I don’t really see it loading. Is there a like a mod list or plugin list that we use to ensure mods are running with the game when we start it up and where is it located?

Cause I just unpacked the game and that’s it and it ran very well but I feel like I’m missing something on my end.

Without downloading anything else other than what the pack has, you can check the NoDim mod in-game without too much effort.
Launch the game, load up one of the default save files and talk to someone with any topic (such as Food). If the character switches poses while talking instead of the screen completely fading to black then the mod definitely works.

I fully agree, but it's exactly why I also try to point people in the direction of the install guide. It's staggering how many people stumbles over it. I guess it's just an old habit of mine to still read forum posts and readmes instead of simply clicking the download button and see if it works or not.

What he wasted his disk space on is not MODS but MODULES. A very different beast - hes a tinkerer, he creates these mostly useless things to alter the behavior of cards. Thats all.

Follow the installation guide to get what is actually available. Nobody has more than what the installation guide has.

LMAO if i had used that much space on modules that would be billion of modules

most of my space wasting mods are either clothes or poser backgrounds and map stuff and audio and generally stuff like that

all available through the modern install guide links generally, and if not there then i got them from the a2 discords

I want to inquire about the recent crashes occurring in my game lately. Every time I click on the book icon after interacting with a character, the game keeps crashing. I have already tried the fix in the installation guide but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thank you.

I just checked the error log: [ERROR] Failed to connect \\.\pipe\PPEX. No clue what it means though

You might have an incompatible version of Windows Desktop Runtime if it repeats this error message in the log.
I recommend installing the package found in the extra folder (3.1.9) if you didn't already.
Outside of that, I did some minor testing myself, -and don't know if it's connected but- in my case I noticed that when I launch the game and unfocus from that window (then do something else) then it takes even longer than usual to boot. So one more suggestion could be (if you've already installed the windows desktop runtime in question and made a PC restart just in case along with the Win10fix in the scripts and the "use .ppx resource loader" from the AAUnlimited tab) is to launch the game and keep it exclusively focused without touching anything else for a good 10 minutes or so and see if that helps or not.

Well, it is certainly supposed to be AA3, just not spiritually I guess. It's a spinoff if we're really generous with the terminology.
For some reason, they really can't let go of the vacation subject and go back to the school setting. They also did this with Koikatsu Sunshine.

I was hoping to play this in Japanese, so I deleted the files that are supposed to contain the translations (01_translation_aa2g_v10.ppx + 31_nodim_clean_v2dot1.ppx).
Even then, the dialogue that appears on the bottom of the screen when talking to characters is still in English.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Turns out the Unified Personality Pack is in English, that's the culprit. Any idea if there's a Japanese version of these personalities?

Well... sortes is a dude from the aa2 taco discord so... if you have some problems with that repack go to him... why? cuz literally some mods including the harderlinker got updated last week
plus i again say if you have any problem with that repack go to sortes in the taco discord, cuz most (if not all) the community tends to refuse to tech support any installation that do not follow the modern guide

I downloaded Sortes' version, added more character cards, and played perfectly smoothly without any errors. The only problem is that the game's size occasionally increases for no apparent reason...

does anyone know what the game reference for play state nude of every clothes? im trying hide some mesh, edit .xx then compile it back to .ppx but for some reason the mesh still exist in game.

it does hide properly in edit mode and the change clothes before game though.

I suspect editing jg2e* works just fine but not jg2p* .... but then what does it reference? i found no .xx file for nude state in jg2p, aside from vanilla nude clothes but even that stay impervious.

and yes, I'm aware of sviex and I do use them. I don't think thats the problem though given the inconsistency.
