Gave it a try, and after 20 minutes uninstalled, it's not labeled as a kinetic novel, but it 100% feels like one. If there's any "free-roam" aspect, I didn't reach it by chapter 2. I'm all for porn games having actual gameplay, but this majorly sucked.

Chapter 1 is linear, Chapter 2 is semi linear (you're stuck in a boat during 100 days but can level up skills), Chapter 3 (current on it) gives more freedom and is when the management/semi-management part of the game really starts, with buying business, hiring girls, making money, etc.

Btw is it possible to sleep with all 50 women in the boat during chapter 2? Cause after a while they stopped showing up at night when MC went to sleep and putting the sign up

Yeah. I think you just need to pass every skill check which can be finagled by save-scumming (fail a check, quit to main menu, press continue, repeat until success). Managed it with like 15 days to spare.

Bugger. I think I broke the Rose date at the Lodge. Whenever I reload the autosave, it just says "Edgar looks at her" with no options to continue. And dumbass me accidentally misclicked and deleted my manual save when I tried to reload it.

Note that this is not a fix-all solution, merely allowing you to save more often and thus having a much more recent rollback if shit hits the fan again, which will be a common occurrence with this game.

Wish I had known about this yesterday. I spent half an hour grinding up my stats (while also upgrading my brothel) before taking on the last chapter if Hands Off My Rose, after I died the first time. I won the fight against Sir Adder easily, but then failed the kissing check with Rose. I figured there might be some more sexy images if I passed that, so I reloaded the save that was supposed to be at the beginning of the boss fight. It reloaded into a completely unrelated event, after which Sir Adder's house was not on my map and Rose was not available to work. This game is an excellent demonstration of why not being able to decide when or how often to save your game is maybe my single most-hated popular feature of video games. It wouldn't have been a problem that the save system is buggy as shit, if you could just freely choose to save it before going into an event.

I've attached my leveldb folder. It would be optimal if you could edit 09 to make it possible for me to access the Rose sex scene again and then have her as a usable employee (not sure if putting Sir Adder's house back on the map would achieve that, or if there's a separate status flag for her character). Barring that, modifying 08 to have 9 Athletics would probably be good enough. I'll lose a lot of progress with the brothel, but beggars can't be choosers.

I did it on my first attempt without save-scumming, and without passing every skill check. I'm not saying that to brag, just wondering if "after a while they stopped showing up at night when MC went to sleep and putting the sign up" might be a bug.

While I'm here, can anyone tell me what the primary stats are for girls working at the tavern?

Rose's sex scene and hiring outcome are tied to the result of Adder's fight. I could technically split them but you will miss out on skill experience from the fight so its best to just run it again, not that it's going to take too long.

Save 09 will be the fixed save where Adder's house is back on the map. I did not touch 08 for the fact that it is currently optimal to unlock the alternate Rose achievement.

The save is created in the apartment so it should not kickstart another event unless the event itself is self-triggered after the function that advances the day.

That said, the image attachment indicates the save is not being loaded properly. Check if slot 09 is named "Fixed Save 09". You will have to clean extract if it is not; clear the files in leveldb folder and copy the new ones from the attached save instead.

Welp, now I can't even get the game to run at all.

Thanks for trying to help, but I think I lost the momentum on this one. I might take a crack at the sequel some time.

Looks like corrupt/misconfigured save issue here.

1. Delete the save folder: "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\fromragstoriches".
2. Run the game, then exit without starting a new game. This should reset the save folder.
3. Delete the folder: "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\fromragstoriches\Local Storage\leveldb".
4. Extract the "Fixed Save.zip" file.
5. Copy the leveldb folder inside the Fixed Saved folder to the save folder. Make sure the directory is "C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\fromragstoriches\Local Storage\leveldb".
6. Run the game again.

Color me dumb, but I can't get any sort of profit out of the brothel management aspect, I have maxed the advertisement and Price per Customer up but I'm in the red everyday. I've reduced salary to as low as it goes but kept maintainance cost. Any idea how to make it work?

It's been a little while, but I think what I vaguely remember is that you need to drop the price down and increase advertisement until your place has a really high reputation, and then you can raise the prices. If you raise the price when it has a bad reputation, then you just won't get many customers.

I just found out that my game made it to this community. I'll admit, I never thought anyone even play my game, let alone spend this much time on it. I'll track Ascension II thread here so I can fix any bugs that come up (as they surely will) and if I ever reopen Ascension I, I'll try to fix those bugs too.

All that to say. I really appreciate that many of you appeared to have enjoyed my game. It helps keep the motivation up in building the rest of the series.
