Atractive male characters in games, your opinions.

If male characters in straight porn games were depicted like they are in gay games, would this?

I think it is less a question of having an attractive MC, but rather one of not having an unattractive or poorly rendered MC. In the context of an otherwise good-looking game, with attractive avatars, having an unattractive MC takes me out of the story. I played a game recently with very attractive female characters, but with a MC that looked like he'd just gotten out of a coma. I hardly believed there would any interest in him.

The main issue I have is when they all look like eachother, plenty of lazy devs don't give a fuck and just reuse the exact same model. Really takes you a bit out of the experience when characters all look like eachother and I really would appreciate more variation overall in that area, from young to older guys.

But if they are too feminine and attractive I might want to bang them instead of the generic girls, not gay though.

I find it actively off putting if there's a muscular or normally built character as a sexual actor in a game. I just don't find those types of guys attractive to look at. There's nothing objectively wrong with these body types, but I only find larger and/or older men attractive, probably because I'm into humiliation stuff and maledom and a girl having sex with those types of men plays into that.

I have an exception for boyish looking characters with MILFs though, especially if they're dominating her because I'm also into age gaps and the power inversion is really hot.

It's never been a deal breaker for a game, unless the characters look cartoonishly unrealistic

More attractive characters can only enhance a game. I don't enjoy pure first person games, and want to see the guy (or guys) on the screen with the girls. Its much hotter for me that way. I don't insert myself into it. I want to see hot people fucking, basically. And just like it would be difficult to enjoy real porn if the dude was ugly and out of shape, it is in games as well.

He doesn't need to be a Greek god, but it really helps if he's average or above average in height, fit, and not ugly. If he's weird looking, its really distracting and can be a downgrade. He also needs to have a porn star quality cock. Not cartoonishly large, but not small either. If he has a really small dick, that's a huge turnoff and makes it hard for it to be hot as well.

I think the faceless shadow figure is to keep the body type neutral which every audience can fit themselves into.

This is true, same theme with male MC Daz model whose face is never shown -- if self-insertion and that immersion is how you play games then it can be difficult to achieve if the MC's appearance is *too* distinct.

Confusingly, just as many people who would agree with that opinion would complain about MC's not having any personality. Not 100% overlap obviously but come on, for those who argue both points.... make up your mind lol, do you want an attractive MC with a strong personality (fewer meaningful choices and freedom in game) or a generic / bland-looking / faceless MC to be a blank slate to insert yourself into?

If you're talking about the MC: I've skipped a bunch of games on here because I just cannot cope with the ungodly hairstyle the main character was given, even a silhouette would be better.

If you're talking about other characters: Not if the game is straight. Making a hot male side char in a game with no gay stuff is just going to be dissatisfying. Looking at you, Tales from the Unending Void.

I have a big problem with a game that has a faceless MC or we only see the half of his face, it feels very unnatural and kinda putting me off a bit. The thing is, as some have said, I don't insert myself into the MC role because at the least the MC has his own personality, even the blandest MC does have one. Every time something happens, I always want to see MC's reaction and his expression because in many situations only his facial expression can react to those.

A faceless MC is very pointless to me, it provides nothing and even decreases the level of my enjoyment for the game, and the biggest problem is a game that has a POV kiss scene, for christ's sake! I don't really understand why they do that, it's just really weird and not romantic at all, seeing the woman pouting her mouth in front of you is ridiculous, and cringe af, so pls stop doing that.

Okay let's get back to the question, I love a game with an attractive MC, it feels more natural for all the LIs to fall for him and a good-looking MC is more eyes pleasing than the ugly one ofc. I am straight(mostly), but I also find males attractive, I have many actors that I think are handsome and really attractive. So ofc attractive MC really enhance my experience with the game. But, another thing is an attractive person is very subjective, and most of Daz Male models are really hard to find a good looking one that don't look like an asshole or with a rapist's face, that's why you'll see the same model over and over again in different games.

My example for a game with an attractive MC is Chasing Sunset, The fact that MC is a good-looking guy does play a big part in the story and it really enhances the game immensely for me.

Faceless shadow characters are used for exhibition purposes, shadowy figures are enough to depict someone watching the girl without having to draw a bunch of unique looking faces since the characters themselves don't matter for exhibitionism, as long as you are being watched is enough.

It isn't about self insertions in fact it's the opposite, when you don't see someone's face you are less prone to relate to that person, it also saves time for the artist since that character will probably not even be fucking anyone.

And I'm pretty sure op was asking about non-mc character, but the same is still valid for mc anyways in most cases.

Faceless MC's are used in games when the developer intends for people to immerse and self-insert. I don't have an issue with these types of games, but it does limit a developers rendering ability. If you can only do POV shots, you lose a lot of flexability. And you end up with some weird renders, like kisses.

The shadow characters are usually for either exhibitionsim or to fill a scene up when the dev can't render real characters or doesn't have good billboards. Personally, I dislike them. It's eerie and weird. I'd rather have no characters than weird shadow people.

As far as attractive male characters go. One reason is there aren't many good male characters to work from. That's why Darius 7/8 (the black guy in most games, like Martin in DMD) keep popping up all the time. And devs in general do less work to make them unique, unlike what some do with female models.

Another thing is, especially for FMC games, is the developer purposely make them ugly to enhance the corruption of the FMC. This is a problem with FMC games, not necessarely male characters though.

I personally don't care what the male characters look like. I know who is definitly ugly and who is definitly attractive. But I can't judge what "average" is for guys or the subtile differences between someone who is a "5" and a "7".

As a straight male I prefer a handsome male protagonist. It makes erotic scenes more beautiful and more enjoyable in my eyes. The games featuring attractive male mc's are rare though.
Unfortunately in most erotic VNs /games most of the time beautiful women will get fucked by ugly, fat, nerdy, old guys or a combination of those, which is supposed to please the humiliation fetish.

I remember 3 games (there might be more, this is not intended as a complete list), where the mc is handsome and therefore I like all three games:
The Visit
Wicked Paradise
Through Spacetime

Honestly, I really like when they put some effort into the male character's models. In most games, all I see is a variation of the same guy. They could be either ugly or attractive, but as long as they're different it really makes the end product better.

For an attractive male main character, it generally means more effort (I guess?) was put into the game, so I usually like those games more. I can still like a game with a normal male model tho.

Being different/unique is generally a good thing, absolutely. But its not a huge deal to me, as long as he's fit and not short.

The best male characters for porn games are no male characters at all - I prefer lesbian games. If a game has to have a male protagonist though, I'd rather play a cool super villain than a teenage loser or creepy grandpa. This doesn't mean the character should look good, but he better has a high power level.

I think his name was Thim
Yeah, I get a gay / cuck vibe from him. This is probably the downside of adding a male character who is too pretty.

As for the game, from a porn game perspective, I don't know why he's there. The game is obviously about the MC and his harem, related or otherwise. Kit, the Asian guy, is a nice guy, I wouldn't even mind sharing with him sometimes, as long as it's not anyone from the main crew. Thim, on the other hand, is not really useful, is not really nice and (fortunately) doesn't show interest in women. There is no gay tag in the game or in the planned content, otherwise Thim might have his place, but at the moment I don't see it.
