I don't understand the versioning of this game, so, v0.28.0 is the alpha? and the next is the beta? of the whole game? or the next major version? Normally for a full release, you get closer to version "1.0", having a 0.28.0 as an alpha sounds weird.
Another concern, we are close to a "beta" with no sex scene of Mikasa, Krista and Elsa to be found... If we are lucky, the most we can get is only one sex scene for each one, and I can already imagine releasing a 1.0 full release with only anal for Mikasa, lol. I will break my computer. Do the dev really hates us so much?

Basically alpha is half of the update and ends in .00 Beta is the entire game and ends in .01 and then the public version is beta with bug fixes and yes I agree that the devs are edging us hard but I heard that all 3 will have sex scenes by the end of the third arc

When you do step 1, it was done with the previous version or v0.2.8 ?

i just started playing with this version
luckily when my saves were cancelled i had not progressed much

it's not exiting the game that erases saves, it's launching it

this is a way to work around it
1) use the "pack into savagames.zip" option while saving
2) launch the game
3) manually extract the savegames.zip file in the renpy save location (something like C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AttackOnSurveyCorps-WIP)

I already tried and it works. For the old save is better before we play v0.2.8 we do the step 1 first with previous version v0.27.2.
If we open v0.28.0 first then our saves is all gone from folder C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AttackOnSurveyCorps-WIP
But our save is still remain in folder save from previous version (mine v0.27.2)

After that just follow like what you did, launch the game v0.2.8, do step 3 then 4

This new update is really buggy with the save system. I'm still on arc 1 of the game and I couldn't load it using the game's save file. I had to open the previous version, 0.27.2, create a manual save somewhere in the game "outside of events," and copy it to the save folder inside the game folder in the new version of the game "manually." Only then was I able to pick up where I left off.

In short, ever since the developer decided to bring this game to life with this "messy" Ren'Py nightly builds engine, he shot himself in the foot!

Probably not. The game dont even have NTR tag, so as much it teases the idea it wont happen, at least not in a bigger way than it already did.

People not into NTR and playing games without this tag, tend to have flabby tit attack if anything like this is inserted in the game (consider the reaction to your post, its a good indicator). And this would hurt devs income, so you can give up on that.

You enable DLC after launching game? if you not , you can't choose new year 2026 in game main menu. But better you wait Beta version for some scenes . its dont worth play rn because of bugs .

For now its better you play v0.27.2 or Patch night scene 0.27.2 .
New update v0.28 still has problems with save file, its gonna delete all your save file from C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\RenPy\AttackOnSurveyCorps-WIP

Except if you have a backup save in your game folder from previous version
