I checked again, and 1713470_loli.rpyc is in my game folder, and she's still just a small adult. do I need to rename it or something? Have it replace a different file?

Remove the "1713470_" part. This is the usual problem people encounter, when downloading attachments from f95zone.
Should work.

Also, another question. Are you actually able to find the books in the library by yourself, or do you HAVE to pay money for them? I got up to the second floor with Sarah's help, and despite clicking every single bookshelf, i was unable to find either of the books I needed, and had to pay for them. It wouldn't be so bad if you could make more than 25 bucks a day.

If he is from Russia, he is most likely unable to get any of those money, as it is nigh impossible to withdraw it without having relatives in nearby countries or going into gray area and risk it. Russians were all but banned by all western credit card operators and banks.
Patreon and SubscribeStar still collect those money, and they promise that everything that was collected will be safe there, on the accounts of the creators, until something will change. I guess, everyone just hopes for the best at this point.
So, I guess, technically you can say he is saving, yes.

just started playing this game, it has great potential. I also hope the walkthrough link gets fixed too. so far, it has some WIP scenes (grey panels) . just unlocked the secretary & mall saleswoman scenes so far, fingers crossed on playing the somewhat finished version.

Sorta. The work stopped when the war in Ukraine started because the creator was somehow directly affected. In April they made a patreon post explaining this and said 'don't worry, work will resume soon' and work has not resumed.
They're alive because they still post rarely on the discord, last I checked, but I had to unsubscribe from their patreon after a certain point. I don't think they're coming back TBH.

Interesting. I already unsubbed from the subscribestar and I wasn't a 15$ tier anyway so I can't see it. Maybe somebody will at least post a changelog or something here.

I went and got the changelog from discord. It seems like a pretty reasonable amount of content? Not '8 months of work' worth, but maybe '8 months of work when my life was blown up by a war's worth.

Because there was no post by the dev in over 90 days and no update for the same time so it got the abandoned tag.
2 ways to get abandoned tag.
1. No contact or update from dev in 90 days.
2. Even with contact from the dev if no update comes out in 18 months it gets the abandoned tag.
There aren't many subscribers willing to post here. I think I'm the one who posted the last update, and I felt very guilty about it and probably won't again. I know it's typical to wait two weeks after an update to post it for free, but I'm not a member of the Discord and I don't follow the dev too well, so I don't know how they feel about it. I'll leave it up to people who follow it more closely.
