Yes, chapter 1 was remade to showcase how the game would eventually look like to first time players. You know, first impressions and all that. There are gradual improvements on the early chapters, but the biggest one comes at around Ch. 12, where the game looks more in line with what you've seen.
People need to define their searches better to avoid the "compressed" and "android" spam.
