Found an exploit for new version .53, swapping your firearms with another seems to give free ammo out of thin air.
it works for me at least when swapping pistol and knife.
helpful for the very start since ammo is bit of trouble in first few rooms
Edit: you need to have some bullets in your magazine for this to work
