what does the mexican joke from that other guy have to do with asking the DEV right here about his work?
think outside the box bro ;)
You mean besides the dev not being active on this site for the past year?

Your defense of the dev rings hollow when even you can't (or won't) tell if he made any tangible progress, despite following him. You have no ground too look down on those who point out the lack of updates looking bleak for development time.

Edit: Also keep in mind, his last update on SubscribeStar, the site where he actually takes donations and where he should be posting updates first and foremost if he wants to recoup at least some of his invested time and money, has last been updated on 7th September 2024. That does not speak well for the project either.

Am I a joke to you?!

Okay actually true since I don't have the ownership of the thread, and it's not my profile highlighted at the top of the post.

First and foremost everyone has a right for their own opinion and judgement, because there are plenty of reasons to be doubtful, especially knowing the pattern behind most of the projects of such caliber. And although from the getgo comments like"this is gonna get abandoned, another one, curse gonna claim, etc" were hurting me, i never went out of my way to argue with people about it, and unfortunately they were right to doubt, i've failed and keep failing while trying to deliver not just something, but something of value and quality.

To address the account behind the forum posts on f95. We were developing this project together with my friend, and it was a development hell shit fest(kinda still is). Initially the plan for the project was to start in Unity cause he is proficient with that engine and my part was supposed to be doing animations. The unity route failed mostly because of my own ambition, i was not satisfied with the way it looked, mainly form graphics stand point, and overtime it became apparent to me that my friend doesn't really take it seriously, i had to learn from the ground up all the basics of importing and setting up materials, playing back my stuff from blender(was kinda tough considering that i opened the software first time ever). I'm blaming him here not because of trying to divert blame,(I'm a major fuckup myself) but because the core idea and incentive to build this was his, but he eventually pivoted away. This is where some comments from me about not knowing anything about starfox lore might resurface, because for me, I liked Krystal as a character(played the og flash game), but not to the point as some people, my progression about her was, (porn>this project>w8 she is actually has a big fandom behind her???). So i was pissed and we had a major fallout, and barely spoke, then reconciled after a few months and I forced us to go in unreal. The deal was somewhat the same, but it was even playing field for both of us in terms of who does what in the project, yet again I was supposed to animate and do the visuals, and he was up for coding. And it only went downhill from there, he threw tantrums about how blueprints are ass and he doesn't want to do it, and I stepped up, because for me there were two choices, either step up and take it onto myself, or quit. After coding failed, he went dealing with material graphs, and after a few attempts at messing with stuff there, he failed again. I had to run around and fix mistakes, double check everything he does(mind you that I'm at that point as green as he is). So at the end of it all he ended up doing environment design, placing props mainly, and basically we ended up splitting tasks like this, he does environment I do everything else. When we published the project here almost a year and a half ago, there were a few quirks to it still, since i can't register and receive money from sub star nor patreon, paypal. He became responsible for handling that side of the deal, and because I thought that it might be a good idea to split our responsibilities a bit further he was the person responsible for handling this forum's account, also twitter. And so this is why the "main" account doesn't post anything here.

The second part, about why there are no updates on substar. Mostly you can say that i'm retarded, because even our supporters left comments like "share something, post something it will be better this way people will know that project is not dead". But I just can't post anything that is not the actual update(the latest post is an exception). And i don't want to whine like a bitch "oh look at me my life is so hard, so another delay, or smth" i saw it so many times from other devs and no, just no. I have plenty of shit to tell, but talking about this, first it is unrelated to the project, second i don't want to provoke pity. My grand father died from cancer last september, my mom went through two major pelvic surgeries that left her crippled, i live in a country where i can't even receive payment cause most worldwide payment processors here work in send only mode, i barely make my ends meet, thankfully prices for groceries and bills are relatively cheap, benefit of living in a shithole i guess. But that’s besides the point. I’m still grateful to everyone who is/was supporting the project, and I'm sorry for failing you and that it takes so long.

About current progress, well, most of the stuff that took most of the time for me was relearning and fighting unreal’s animation pipeline(i’m still figuring it out). Most of the visible performance passes and system refactorings that I was doing are thankfully done.

I hope it answers some of your questions.

you are not retarded you are cute

seriously tho maybe you could decrease quality for the sake of speed, the doubt is real and there is krystal curse people are talking about where no game with krystal is getting finished for some reasons, i wish i was an artist myself because i got lot of ideas for games but i take example from myself when i see game got shitty images quality i dont play it so i know if i make game myself using RPG maker and put there some of them shitty art of mine or little better but still shitty AI images i think people wouldnt even look at it for fap material so you need to balance quality and speed in some good way to find that sweet spot where it works, i dont think not updating game for a year will bring you supporters and progress i would aim for 6 months max or less
dont take us seriousl y here we just expressing our opinions but if i was making game i would make it my way and you should be making it your way, if you like what youre doing then you dont have to change anything artists should also do games how they like it because doing what you dont like is receipe for disaster, treat our remarks with distance

My apologies, I was not aware there is another account tied to the development, much less the other circumstances behind the development. That was my mistake, like any dumb potential player I checked the OP, the last page and the Patreon/Subscribestar, and went with the information readily available on there. That is, no official updates in over a year and the dev linked to the thread inactive.

I am thankful for your in-depth explanation, even if it leads to the same conclusion that progress is slow and insubstantial - and I don't mean this as a personal attack against you.

Already on it, (not taking peoples opinions to heart) but i still listen, so you can take it as you will.

Thank you <3

Your critisism and logic behind the asumptions is valid, if i were you and was upset about the game, I would potentially go the same route. Unfortunately it is what it is, I can't call the progress that i did substantial in terms of "NEW" content, cause refactoring and fixing previously working stuff( no matter how long it took) that at the end of the day still looks the same for the final user, for the purpouse of more contained future development, will still look unseen, and rightfully so.

There is no need for apology. Thank you for raising your consearn here <3

i followed your work on this project for a long time now and i can only say you are doing an exquisite job bro. learning a totally unfamiliar engine from scratch and presenting us with such an awesome demo is something not everybody can accomplish like you did. i always watch your streams and im excited for the next update. and im sure most of us all think the same and we will stand with you. even if it takes another 5-6 months until the new update comes out
