Hahah But I don't have a project where I make money to abandon. I learned to make 3DCG renders and code precisely to try to continue a game that's not mine without getting anything for it. Hi. I'm not a Ren'Py expert, but the Ren'Py system, starting with the first 7.x versions, has allowed you to add languages to a game. These languages are stored in the "game/tl" folder.
For standard translation, the Ren'Py SDK is used, which extracts dialogue, menu choices, and various strings (not all of which are necessary). These extracted strings, in the original language, are inserted into various scripts in the "game/tl/(language)" folder. The translator will then translate each string individually.
Of course, almost no one translates string by string by hand anymore, as it would take days, if not months, for very large games. Instead, tools are used to speed up the translation process using online translators like Google, DeepL, and others.
For my translations, I use Zenpy Pro, one of the best tools for Ren'Py games, then I apply a bit of post-production to correct the most obvious errors.
