I'm not going to lie. Since this VN hasn't been updated in ~10 months I'm not sure if it's going to be quicker for me to painstakingly update the Core of the existing mod or just simply start from scratch. Kinda sucks tbh... I'm on the fence for a bit while I debate what's the least amount of a massive workload.

figured mod update won't be coming out anytime soon, tried to play it without mod - god damn i forgot how atrocious original UI is, blinding white textbox completely covering everything underneath with hard to read slim font... sometimes i think devs don't even launch their games, just code it and ship it
looks like back to waiting for me

Stupid question why do you need to update the core.
The old code is obsolete... like Windows Vista. It's the difference of moving a mountain of material one shovel at a time across miles versus having a fleet of dump trucks and a track loader.

I'm going with the complete rewrite but I'll use the old template as a starting point (the UI and general formatting). This is the fastest way to the goal line. I'm currently porting the old VN scripts to the new ones (a massive PITA since the dev changed the MC variable names which leads to each script having hundreds if not thousands of changes in the code).

I'm working on it... ugh.

I appreciate the kind words bud. If you like the mod before, you're going to be pleased with the new product. I'm doing my best to have it look the same but it's packing more features and has way more polish for the experience. Regards.

*hugs* I don't pop in here often, but I wanted to thank you for all the mods you do, Sancho. I play so many games with your mods that I can't believe you have the time to sleep! I really appreciate all the work you do! Glad to see another Texan is happily improving the games we all love to play!

Thanks Kyla. I sleep a bit... but still have other duties due to folks and employees counting on me. Be plenty of time to rest once I'm dust. Take care these next few days, weather's a bit threatening.

I reckon I should give you folks an update but you can guess what I'm up to at this point. Since so much has changed due to the MC's variables being named differently as I stated before I'm taking the opportunity to choreograph the MiniStat while I go over each scene with a fine-toothed comb. I honestly hate this part... but it must be done to insure a proper experience.

Otherwise, don't worry about your saves... I've sorted all that so you'll be just fine. I've cleaned up the stats a bit and tweaked the UI since I had to port all that code over (I despise the OEM white screens). I've got it looking very similar to before so hopefully you'll feel right at home. Of course this is all running no my latest Core code so you get all the latest features. I'm not going to implement the alt-character naming feature until I truly know if cheats are even going to be required in the VN.

As it stands, after sorting through all the new "changes" the new content is some new scenes with a few choices but nothing that I can see that'll be unmanageable. I'll try to remember what folks have been saying in the VN's thread about previously playing Female and getting Male upon loading a save... that shouldn't be any big issue to resolve as well.

Anyway, that's about it... it's the boring coding going on and analyzing the minute details. Nothing exciting tbh, just work.

You, too, sweetie. Luckily all the really bad stuff is hitting north and east ... would hate to be in Tyler though ... 'sides it'll take a lot more'n a little twister to keep this Texas gal from strapping her boots for the rodeo!

Unfortunately I'm currently deep in the National Forest in east TX... it'll be alright though... got a place on the coast as well and it's been hit by its fair share of storms. I'm just hoping I have enough fuel for the gens if we lose power by chance. A few hundred gallons of diesel seems like a lot until you're burning it 24/7. Be well, and be safe.

Yeah all that shit missed me up here in the North Central part West of Big D... Us Texicans have to look after each other... :)

Well, I've still been at it non-stop with exception of sleep breaks. I've found and reported some old bugs to the dev via the VN's thread and sorted them in the mod preemptively. I'm finding these very old bugs due to going over every line of code (as must be done when choreographing the MiniStat) which is extremely tedious. After ~24hrs the only new teaser I really have is the screen I see the most (literally hundreds of times):

All jokes aside, there's really no reason the mod won't be done once I'm done with the choreographing. I'm finally on the last "day" of the VN so once that's done it's basically a few hours of code cleanup and final testing. I don't want to promise anything but it's certainly possible to get something out this evening or early tomorrow (it's ~1430hrs here). I'm just not finding anything that would be gamebreaking from folks in the Beta so far that can't be sorted... but we never know about additional "scenes" that could potentially be added before the last in the beta, so keep that in mind if I decide to push out a Beta build later.

That's about it for now, if I don't keep my nose to the grindstone this will never get done. This is the last time I do a full rewrite for this VN though. If the dev changes variables so basic and fundamental as for Characters again (which is totally unnecessary BTW) I'll likely raise the white flag.

Well... Houston, we have a problem (but I have a solution). There is a choice during a date with an LI (who I shall not spoil out of respect) that has a label jump to a label that does not yet exist. I'm going to make a "patch" for this issue since it's a "beta" anyway, and I'll present the standard notifier that I recommend a save point before it occurs.

In other words, this is indeed a beta and NOT complete. I can make it all work unbroken but know that I can't/won't create content, but I can seamlessly patch it all to function properly for what is here. I've made notes so I know where all the many fixes and patches I coded are so I can check them upon the actual release whenever that occurs.

That's it, just thought I'd share the info. Regards.

I just now notice... So, after having the only mod listed in the VN's OP for over a 1.5yrs I get pulled since I don't have an update for a beta testing version of the VN in less than 48hrs? WTF is that all about?

Being a black sheep definitely gets zero respect, only oppression.

I WAS wondering where it was. More and more I have a hard time finding mods in OPs, have to go digging in search if I even remember that I have mods installed when I update.
