Why is there only one option here, is it mandatory to share Rachel?
I believe only if you do the harem path. Otherwise she says her relationship with Maggy is not continuing ...
Exactly that.
Late reply, because life has been hectic for me for the last few months, so I haven't had a chance to bring this up before.
In that scene (for me) Rachel says "But that's history, she's just a good friend now", which is when we get the mandatory singular option. I'm still on the harem path, but I didn't sleep with Maggy. If you're on the non-harem path, you don't get a choice there at all, the dialogue just flows without asking for an input. If you're on the harem path and you've slept with Maggy, you get the choice of two options, but it's barely a choice at all considering both of them wind up with you saying more or less the same thing, and being open to bringing Maggy into the harem mix (which kind of makes sense, if you're forming a harem and have already slept with her, but I could see some players wishing they had a choice to just exclude her from the final polycule/keeping Rachel to yourself).
On the non-harem path, Rachel seems pretty clear that she's broken up with Maggy, and because you're not asked for input it seems like a pretty clear assertion. But on the no-Maggy harem path, you actually get slightly different dialogue from either of the other two possibilities. And because you're forced into that response, it kind of makes the entire conversation a bit awkward.
We're basically forced to say "It's fine if you want to keep dating her." The two of them are immediately interrupted, so Rachel never really has a chance to respond to that (splitting the difference between the other two paths). That doesn't really come across as Rachel saying her relationship with Maggy isn't continuing, it sounds like we're giving her explicit permission to
keep dating Maggy. Which seems odd because people on that path have already shown they're not interested in Maggy, and would probably be more inclined to want to keep Rachel to themselves/their harem.
I can definitely see why some players might feel like they're being forced to allow Rachel to keep dating Maggy even if they don't want her to. It doesn't really feel like there's an option there to tell her to stop. Or to solidly establish that she has no interest in continuing that relationship and won't start it up again.
That probably
could be fixed by turning that singular choice into a full choice between two options ("It's fine if you want to keep dating her" and then something like "I'd definitely prefer you stop dating her" or "I'm definitely glad that's in the past" or "I'd rather keep you all to myself" etc), and adding a line or two of dialogue afterwards with Rachel making it clear she's definitely done with Maggy. Or conversely, just taking the dialogue choice out entirely and have it more like how the non-harem path handles it, where the player isn't be forced to basically give their blessing for Rachel to keep seeing Maggy romantically.
you didn't know that mc's sister likes to play with matches?
You know, we've been joking about that for a while now. But as of the latest update we now know (from the same scene as above) that Ellie may have found out we were coming/where we were staying independently of Rachel. The fact that the dialogue specifically calls attention to it might mean there's more to it. Jada implies Ellie didn't know we were coming, but Jada could be wrong.
Odds of her
actually being the firebug drastic go up!
