Hey everyone,
As the year wraps up and we head into the festive season, I just wanted to send some warm wishes your way.
I hope you have a joyful, relaxing Christmas, a New Year full of wins, and that your holiday wishes come true… no matter how naughty they are. Thank you so much for sticking around, for the encouragement, and especially to all the patrons whose support genuinely keeps this project alive. I don’t take that lightly.
Over the last couple of months, my main focus has been giving Baddies, Inc. some much-needed polish. The core game itself was already done, but testing (and yes, a painfully long to-do list) made it clear there were lots of small things that could noticeably improve the overall experience.
This stage of development isn’t the most exciting. It’s mostly bug fixing and refinement rather than shiny new features. But it’s one of the most important steps in making sure the final game actually feels really solid and high quality. Here’s a quick overview of what this “final polish” sprint has looked like:
- Lighting fixes: Spent a lot of time correcting lighting issues where scenes didn’t quite match visually, making sure transitions feel smooth and consistent.
- Render cleanup: Fixed small but annoying things like texture glitches, flickering objects, and clipping, so the visuals are nice and smooth.
- Localization prep: Added language variants for renders that include text, so future localization won’t break layouts or scenes.
- Audio balancing: Tweaked sound balance across the board, especially cases where music was too loud or too quiet.
- Smoother animations: Improved physics across animations (yes, including the jiggle and bounce physics) so everything feels more natural. It’s subtle, but you’ll definitely notice it. Sound effects have also been added to every animation.
- Missing scenes: Wrote and implemented several important transition scenes that were missing, helping the story flow more naturally.
- Texting realism: Added a new set of in-game texting templates to make in-game text look nicer.
Version 0.1.18 is very close now. Most of the renders are finished, with just two animations left to wrap up. I’m really excited to share the result with you all soon. It’s the same game, but noticeably more polished and enjoyable.
