For anyone wondering on how to use this with Windows 11. There is no catalog update file for it, so the method in OP for installing flash does not work. Instead, you need to

• Download the file flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx. I can't post links but I got it from the second result on google when searching for that file.
• Place it in the directory C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx.
• Hold down Win-X and press Windows Terminal Admin.
• Run the command regsvr32.exe "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx"

Then it should work.

Side note for anyone trying this, it's flash32_17_0_0_1341.ocx not flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx.
Works otherwise. In Windows 10 just use Powershell in Admin mode instead of Windows Terminal Admin.

did u try to run with compatibility mode windows 7?
if not the installer,try bwebrwkerw posted.
i know people been successful in windows 11 so it should work.
otherwise u can use the adobe flash projector, should be available if u google.
its a stand-alone project from adobe to play flash.

I just ran it in compatibility mode and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the help!

The windows 10 uninstaller is not working for me.
It said that it was already installed on my system.
So I skipped that step and tried the flash uninstaller.
After reboot I install flash_player_ax32.0.0.363, flashplayer32_0r0_344_winax. (with compatibility mode windows 7)
They don't work. I can only use flashplayer_32_sa_debug to play games.
But I want to use baka selector to skip scenes.
It's tiring to replay the whole game just for one particular scene.

This is correct actually, the site I mentioned before had the file name with that typo. Also, the original site I got it from is not working correctly any more, so if anyone who downloaded it could reupload it and post it here, I'd appreciate that a lot. My hard drive died and took that file with it and none of the other methods work even on a fresh install.

I found the flash ocx file but cannot upload due to new account. But was found here ocxme .com

but sometimes your system will "lock" the version u try to install.
if so, use another version. check this thread, some user uploaded another version u can try
heres one:

Oh yeah I read the instructions and all read 20 pages of comments and I just may be too stupid to figure it out lol. Downloaded and tried every version on the Catalog site but like Nate said that may not work for Win 11. Compatibility mode Win 7 the install. Since it obviously works for some, I'm sure it's user error. I'll try again later.

BTW I love your work Baka, and that you're still going at it years later. Big ups to you! And I know you're tired of copying and pasting that message lol

another way is to do it manually using
the cmd (command prompt) and type Regsvr32.exe
what u do is create a folder yourself in your system folders.
example C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
and there u place a copy of the activex, such as "Flash64_32_0_0_363.ocx"
and using the cmd u write (example)
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\Flash64_32_0_0_363.ocx

and see if its works. run the "cmd" also in administrative mode

It finally worked! And it was with the original steps, minus the catalog. The issue I was running into was instead of dragging the swf file into the open Baka Loader, I set the swf files to Open With the baka loader program and it popped right up! Thank you all for your help!

Should the instructions be any different for Windows 11?
I'm currently on Windows 11 and I can't get baka.loader to work :/
followed all the instructions I could find on f95 :,)

people with W11 says it should not be any problems with W11 to make it work.
if the "catalog" don't work. just skip it and see if it works.

For some reason I can't get swf files to run, baka.loader starts up but no files will load, both drag&drop and launching the swf itself using bakaloader dont work.

After uninstalling and attempting to re-install flash it gives the following error:

if not, find another flash version. u can find it in this thread.

I did indeed run in windows 7 compatibility mode otherwise the installer wouldn't start.
I have tried 4 different flash versions but alas they all give the same error :/

very strange. most be some issues with the registry.
try to run the uninstaller, and maybe do a search in the registry if theres some leftovers.
and check folders where the .ocx could be placed and remove it.

Unfortunately already tried all of those things :/
Checked all known registry Flash locations which were all empty/non existent
which is also the case with the System32/MacroMed/Flash and SysWOW/MacroMed/Flash folders/files.

I'll try reinstalling windows soon cuz I don't see many other options

i was in your situation before but i fixed using the custom file provided by baka....
close all application
run unistaller
reset pc
install flash use compaibility win7
boom your done.....

baka loaded a swf on 2022 on win 10 this was impossible before......
