the instructions:
- use the catalog installer first
- use the uninstall program (run is compatibility windows 7)
- use the flash install (run in compatibility windows 7)

sometimes u need to try another flash install.
try to find another version of it. its uploaded in this thead somewhere.
that can fix the problem.

For anyone wondering on how to use this with Windows 11. There is no catalog update file for it, so the method in OP for installing flash does not work. Instead, you need to
  • Download the file flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx. I can't post links but I got it from the second result on google when searching for that file.
  • Place it in the directory C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx.
  • Hold down Win-X and press Windows Terminal Admin.
  • Run the command regsvr32.exe "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\flash32_17_0_0_134.ocx"

Then it should work.

I did, but the fix doesn't wanna work, keeps telling me my Internet Explorer has the latest version. I've run it in Windows 7 compatibility, I've run the uninstaller, I did read the readme. I'm a bit stumped to be honest. I found a debug installer elsewhere that worked to get rid of the OCX message, but then this one pops up.

Thanks for your help btw.

I created baka.loader.2 many years ago. it could handle compressed mode (that is why I have zlib)
but they create a new format "zws" that is using a new compression/encryption mode that baka.loader.2 can't decompress.
I know how to deal with that, and my baka.loader.3 (unfinished) can run.
if u can find a tool that can save as uncompressed, baka.loader.2 should be able to run it.

I tried to use the baka loader / baka selector, but most games, especially the characters are a buggy mess, it does work normally though when just using flash player itself instead. Am I using an old version of baka loader? Because some games also work normally, but most are pretty much unplayable.

no its the adobe.flash.component that could be old or new (sometimes new is not always the best)
did u try to run the version from the fix? (in OP) if yes, and you are using that version, try finding another one.
Its the newest version before the "kill-switch".

it depends on your OS. sometimes a "version" gets locked. so u can't install it.
(usually it works if u use the uninstaller) but sometimes using another version would "bypass" the lock and get properly installed. so, as I pointed out. try the OP first, if not try "another version".

I tried to run the fix, but it told me that internet explorer comes pre-installled with a flash player so I couldn't install it.

follow the instruction text inside the fix-zip. there should be a few steps, like downloading the catalog uninstaller and also running the uninstall.exe inside the zip. also, u need to run with compatibility mode windows 7.
if u are unable after done all the steps, try using another installer, the one doomwad765 quoted.

I am on windows 11 and can't get anything to work. Every time i try to run bakaloader or any other of the programs it says a flash component is missing. I tried downloading flash from the link but it said i already had flash on internet explorer, which i don't have on my computer. I then tried downloading the uninstaller in the instructions, but was not able to get it since there were no windows 11 uninstallers. Is there something i can do to get ur apps to work on windows 11 or is that not yet a possibility?

if not the installer, try bwebrwkerw posted.
i know people been successful in windows 11 so it should work.
otherwise u can use the adobe flash projector, should be available if u google.
its a stand-alone project from adobe to play flash.
