Okay, let's get the elephant in the room addressed. How legible is the MTL? The translated screenshots look fine, I know, but I tend to be cynical when it comes to assessing a few pictures as the measure of an entire VN's quality of writing.

I've got the same error, try using the locale emulator, it fixed the error for me
