Yes, it doesn't overwrite the same files, so it will work, most mods are incompatible like that is because they over-write the same files, in this instance they do not.

Yes the reviews are accurate. iirc from my experience this mod kinda "forces" you into specific paths with no explanation/added info on what you are getting into/what you'll be missing. In the end, it's not that different from playing with no mod.
