There are arrows on the village management screen. Simply click on them to add or remove a worker. Obviously, first remove one somewhere (left arrows). That gives you a free worker to add elsewhere (right arrows or upgrade buttons)
Same goes for the horde management screen, use the arrows to change horde leader or horde icon.

Not gonna lie, compared with the other games of the dev, this one is a lot better, i just hope that those two at the beginning of the game come back at some point...

This Dev actually tries to get better, so he improves with practice and experience.
So each one of his games is better than the previous ones

A save would be completely useless.
It would unlock nothing (there is no gallery yet) and it would not advance the story (this is not a VN), but would rather lock you out of some scenes than were "seen" by the player providing the save and were one-off events.
Maybe read the changelogs, so you know what there is to see and just go with the flow, visit different places, use the map to travel, etc...
