I find it funny how Jasonafex is so incompetent that that last time he even mentioned this game anywhere in his discord was in June. Now that it's September it seems we're no closer to anything even remotely playable.

Don't rely on any of his backers in the discord to help troubleshoot either, just read a conversation between someone who was getting major memory leaks from the game and one of Jason's mindless money printers
Legit the only thing he said was "It's in early development stages" and then when the person submitting the report asked for actual help, the dude just changed the subject lmao

I swear buyer's remorse is the only thing keeping this lazy bastard above water anymore because quite a few of his backers seem to not really get the memo that Jasonafex has never made a polished final product

I think he used to ask permissions in the past but then decided no to anymore.

There's many instances of him on his videos critiquing others for not taking criticism all while he's not able to take any himself

I was following this thread for a while and with all the negative comments, decided to give 0.68 a go.
I have to be honest, of all the emotions I was ready to feel, 'laughing very hard' was not one of them.
This game works great as a comedy for a minute or two.
I am a bit concerned for the dev though. I hope they are OK and healthy.

A game about 2d sprites beating each other up in a 2d world really shouldn't take even half the resources of a giant 3d open world, yet here we are. Can anyone check if there isn't some cryptomining shit or something attached to the game? Because otherwise, this would be record-breakingly fucked-up code. Wouldn't put either option past them.

Last time I checked it was just badly optimized code, coupled with overbearing obfuscation. That was almost two years ago, but I kinda doubt anything changed.

the last lead dev worked themselves sick makking monthly patchs and fixs solo for a year and had to quit so it wouldnt surprise me

If any are wondering about if the new update is stable I selected exit to main menu while in the jungle the game instead of doing that selected another level and refused to start it.

So v0.6.9 is out now (I don't know what the new pass is). For anyone updating, remember to delete the old version first (or move it somewhere else if you want to keep it), do not just overwrite it. This game has a tendency to fuck up when you just overwrite files. Granted, this game has a tendency to fuck up in general, but it at least fucks up less this way in my experience.

Contentwise, the new character is in, complete with animations (except for the Mimic and the two female enemies).

Man, the new character animations are a literal 1:1 copy of Genesis', who is in fact another 1:1 of Vergence.

Some of the placeholders of the animations that are not yet done of the new character even use Gen's model.

It's such a blatant copy that in one of the kobold animations you can even use Gen's skin for Jade.

Haha I called it although they didn't use the same voice as gen so I'm a little sad on that end. Out of curiosity how does the game run for you?
