Sorry for not writing this message much earlier.
I had planned to write it shortly after releasing version 0.2, but I jumped straight into working on the new version, and between one thing and another I kept postponing it. No matter how much time I spend working on the game, if I don’t share my thoughts and progress with you, it’s not going to magically reach you. So from now on, I’ll try to be more active here, showing progress and other things.
UPDATE FREQUENCY
Let's start with the update frequency.
“When is the next update coming out?” is probably the question I see the most on different social networks. I already answered it a while ago, but since we’re a lot more people now, I don’t mind repeating it.
I originally planned to release version 0.2 in two months, but it ended up taking 6 months! That’s obviously way too long. My goal is to reduce update times as much as possible.
The main problem, as some of you already know, is that I have a pretty limited PC. Just posing and placing several characters causes a lot of lag, and previewing a scene can take 10–20 minutes. Rendering takes at least an hour — and that’s because I usually stop them early, then pass them through a filter in Blender, and later through Photoshop.
While I save up for a stronger PC, someone lent me one similar to mine (mine has a 1080, the borrowed one has a 3060 — both with 8GB VRAM). Even though the GPU is important, if a scene exceeds VRAM it switches to CPU only, so most scenes don’t actually use the GPU. Hair and clothing simulations are also CPU-based, and take quite some time too. On top of that, we also have unexpected issues — for example, furry animals like the boar and the “monster” (spoiler: it’s a bear…) crash Daz constantly.
In version 0.2, I wasted a lot of time obsessing over animations. I ended up losing 1–2 months trying to make them look good, and had to discard many anyway. That’s why I’ve decided to leave animations for last. I also tried using AI for animations, but I personally think it still needs about a year before it’s fully worth it. And honestly, I like animating myself — I just won’t let it slow me down again.
Another change: I’ve started making scenes linearly. Before, I worked on multiple scenes at once so I could occasionally share something nude or hot. But that really wasted time, so now I’ll just show progress as it is, even if it’s not something spicy.
With these changes, I hope to cut update times in half. That’s also why I can’t give you a fixed release date. I don’t want to promise something I can’t keep.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN 0.3 & FUTURE PLANS
Version 0.3 is very important for moving the story forward and making characters like Layla and Gloria closer to the protagonist. The MC will have to face his fears to rescue Xena and Layla, so this update will focus on that “rescue.”
There will be a hot scene with Xena (footjob/masturbation). Personally, I’m not really into that, but I think it will work well in Xena’s story development.
I’ll also try to implement the night lake bathing scene with Layla. It’s actually a short scene, but renders in natural low-light conditions are very heavy.
If I have time, and the update doesn’t get delayed too much, Isabel and the MC will reach the next level (though it may end up happening in 0.4).
I was also going to include the beginning of Gloria’s relationship with the MC, but that would extend the update too much, so it will likely be the focus of version 0.4.
On Discord, I was told that the 'preferences/menu' button can’t be pressed on some Android phones, so I’ll see if I can make the button draggable so you can place it wherever you want.
I’ll also add an opacity slider for the textbox.
In future updates, I plan to add a character information section — something like info cards for the girls, but better integrated into the game.
Scenes like Brumosa’s lagoon spying event will be skippable in the future. The reason I didn’t make them skippable in 0.2 is because if new content could be skipped right away, it would feel like there was even less content than there actually is (and I’m already adding less than I’d like at this early stage). But don’t worry — the game is still in its early development phase, and if you’re enjoying what you see so far, I promise it’s only going to get better.
CENSORSHIP ON ITCH.IO & OTHER PLATFORMS
Lastly, not long after uploading version 0.2 to Itchio, they removed all +18 games from their search engine. Something similar happened on Steam, but since the game isn’t there yet, I don’t know the details. And on Twitter, you now need to show your face on cam just to see a pair of boobs (yeah, good luck with that).
What I can say is: I recommend joining Cremosito’s Discord just in case something similar ever happens here on Patreon. Because I’m going to keep making this game no matter how much visibility they take away.
I hope this message wasn’t too long…
Thank you so much for your support, and a warm hug from a melted ice cream suffering in the summer heat.
