You just cannot create a 3D game from early state to finished state so fast and without bugs. This is not possible at all. I mean, normal games does not release playable game parts because they just finish their game and test/bug fix/optimize and release.

If you try to make the same progress for every step, you just cannot go on. At this point, if you still wanna do this way, you need to release big patches like "Parts" every year maybe.

As I am working with a coder for my game, I cannot presume when he will finish the code and will it work without bugs and the biggest problem, did this patch create any new bugs for other section of the game.

For those reasons, I think Animo did not foresee those problems. Why did he bother games when it's way harder to animate porn in the game engines, I don't know. Probably he though it will be way cooler and it will go smooth and fast enough. Yeah a porn game would be cool like this but the development would be very very painful.

As I said if I were him, I would go for partial system with at least 6 month or yearly releases.

How they where adding content 3 days before "the release date" sent big red flags, specially in a sandbox type game.
They are not accounting for proper testing, bugfixing and the typical Murphy's law, which in reality consumes a huge portion of your dev time.
He should only announce release dates when the build is closed and all the game breaking bugs are fixed at least, but we all know animo can't contain himself.

At this point I finished Baldur's Gate 3 twice, at this rate Starfield, Cyberpunk DLC's gonna come out before this, I'll finish those, do my military service, come back, open this thread and read through months worth of 74 more "delay 2 more days" as reasons get wilder and elaborate than the last,

"dog ate the power cable and had to be put down, personal time off 2 weeks"
"dog ate external hdd when I was moving single dev build onto other pc, start over"
"horse I bought to model the cock of in the game pissed in my mouth so I had to be hospitalized"
"my uncle's last will he wished for me to burn his pc down, ended up burning the house down onto myself 2 months"
"PETA raided my home after horse I bought to model the cock of in the game ran away , pc confiscated, 3 years delay"
:illuminati:

A bit late to the party but I got some questions...

When did these delays become anticipated/planned rather than unexpected/random?
Why is that so many seem like "this again" or "you said you addressed this months ago"?

Why do so many posts read like he's trying to convince both sides of it's truthfulness?
Why have many posts contradicted past ones? Even as early as the one just before it?
Why also do posts read like some college kid desperately trying to meet a minimum word count for an essay just to appear busy/knowledgeable in the topic?

Why add content so close to a release date yet after you stated "it was in the hands of the programmer now"?
Why did that only happen after it was leaked just how much content was cut/held back for future releases despite being implied all previewed content would be in this release?

Why float the idea of pledge suspension like it means nothing for either side?
Would not being paid make you work faster/harder? Or would it give you an out as to "you aren't paying so you can't complain" (a line used by MANY cult-like AP followers)?
What is the timeline for resumption of monthly pledges? What reason does anyone have to support you monetarily when they resume given all the issues with this project?

It's clear the guy and his team are in well over their heads and are too far to back out now. Short of a picture perfect release in the coming weeks/month or so, I don't see this ending well at all. Even if it does launch lets say in September or October...ok. What then? Another year, two years for an update? And how many carbon-copy excuses will he rehash in that time from this release? Hell, he's still admitted adding content long after all posted release dates. I think it's time we sun-setted AP as a content creator. Instead, he should be labeled as a hype creator.

The problem with Animopron is that he has been doing this teasing for years by now. It might has become a scheme of getting paid by people who adore his work and invest in him.

-There has been several times where he re-posted the same gif over and over again as a teaser for his viewers and to get more people to his patreon (not longer exist) or his subscribestar and such.

-He simply lied and made up reasons why there was no process with his work, decieving his viewers and fans by telling them how he is having problems that are simply not true.

-theres a certain pattern by now where he uploads 2-4 weeks prior the release a gif and tells everyone that it is delayed, that is fine the first 2 times, maybe 3 times. But this has been going on since 2019.

Animopron is an amazing creator and artist, he understands his audience well. But his marketing and the way he talks to his fans directly is by far more than disrespectful. I believe there was a time where he told his viewers in his comment section to fuck off because of suggestions a few years back. Not trying to make any rumors here so I might be wrong.

I heard it was more of a direct decline, like:No I will not do that or No this will never appear, but idk about fuck offs, maybe yes maybe no.But he certainly was very direct, although he many times accepted suggestions, like one in one of 2022 posts comment section someone suggested that the heroine should carry something in her ass/pussy as a small sidequest from one location to another, and Animo responded quite well with I was thinking about that/add it into the game, but idk

Sorry for a little off-topic, but I really want to know your (or anyone else here) opinion. Would you prefer direct and honest answer that you probably won't like (obviously, said in a polite way, without fuck offs) or vague promise to do what you want that will probably never be fulfilled? Or maybe you would like no answer at all? And why?

I'm asking because I want to publish my game here one day, and this particular topic was bothering me for a while. I know that some (or many) people would want me to do things I'm either not comfortable with or just can't do fast and easy, so they will have to wait years before I can fulfill their request. So I was thinking about the best approach to my audience. Can you maybe help me with that by providing your opinion on the matter?

One thing I learned for sure: never play the delay game with your audience :D

If you're serious about your game, be honest. If you want money, play bitch and milk all your patrons.:devilish::KEK:

Speaking of 3D porn puzzle games. Look at the Personal Study dev. From the beginning he was honest "I'm a one-man army + "weekend" development only...less than 100 patrons, no money, no support...only few loyal followers.Poor guy.

"Sorry, Delay, Sorry, Delay" is definitely sin that won't work for a long time. Longer intervals or make(spam) some test/nightly/pre-alpha builds. Like "He Guys, New Update - BITS 0.000000000002. Plenty of bugs, it's unplayable, you can't even run the game, controls suck, but you have one new room, one quest and there's half of the new character!!!
F95: Hooray, update, wow, still alive, booooobs !!! Hey, wait a minute..half..WTF?. YOU BITCH" :poop:

You can't make anyone (all anyone horny) people happy whatever you do. You should not care much too if you are prepared what to do. I mean you can go scamy ways with lies or false promises or you can make it honest. But if you know what you are doing, you can give more logical dates for your releases. Or you just do what you do and you put a roadmap without dates and you just go on and release what you can, when you can.

As I said before, games are not good products you can just release with short time periods. It's up to the game too. A simple novel game would need only more visuals to update, a platform could use some enemies and levels but if you try more complex games, you just can't cut it to pieces enough to release or you make your releases with larger periods.

I wish we could try an experiment.

I wanna see how long it would take him to release it if all his supporters paused their donations at the same time.

My guess is less than 24 hours.

It's a thought experiment no reason to get all defensive and start name calling.

The reason I refuse to support him is because he conducts himself in this manner.

When he completes a project I throw a couple of bucks his way for a 1 month subscription. Once every 2-3 years.

How much have you "invested" in him for you to be so defensive about it?
