VN - Ren'Py - Completed - Become a Rock Star [v1.01] [Mr Jet]

An impressive amount of characters with a wide variety of choices on who to pursue and how. The character design is memorable and good looking and the visuals, in general, are very pleasant to look at. The writing is good and has well-written dialogue, mostly drama mixed with romance, and the game features plenty of well made intimate and sex scenes as well as story choices that have consequences to them.

Overall if you enjoy a visually appealing adult VN with plenty of story choices and various pathways with different characters, this one is very well worth trying out.

This review was written after I finished v0.55. Since spoilers may affect your experience, I will remain vague and give you just an idea of what to expect.

This is a fun game with a decent premise. The story of someone pursuing a dream against their parents' wishes is a classic and appealing one, especially if done convincingly. I do like how instead of becoming more antagonistic to your father, you can simply choose to remain determined to prove yourself through success. This story has reached what may be a major turning point in the current version, and I am looking forward to how the MC handles these changes.

The (presumably) main interests are all distinctive, though since they are all quite likable, it is not easy to pick favorites. Apart from being obviously attractive in ways that cater to different preferences, their personalities and stories are also slowly fleshed out in the game. Though I must point out that during the first act, the girls may not stand out from the crowd due to the relatively slow pacing in terms of character building and lack of distinctive quirks. This is not a flaw, just something to keep in mind. I also appreciate how MC's obligatory male best friend is not entirely neglected or excluded from the action.

As for the game-play, Become A Rock Star is a visual novel, so you will know what to expect. Your choices will only affect MC's relationships as he will pursue his dream regardless, so the MC can remain single, celibate and still continue his story. (though this may defeat the whole point of playing an visual novel sex game) Since this is a Ren'Py game the controls are quite user-friendly, and almost instinctive to me as I have a preference to Ren'Py. (I never said I would be fair, I'm just an arrogant bastard who likes to babble after all)

All in all, this is a crowd-pleasing visual novel that shows potential. It may not take as many risks as some may hope, but it will very likely be a solid, enjoyable story.

Certainly one of the best games. Truly excellent with top quality animations, renders, use of language and performance. Nice plot, interesting story lines and highly erotic atmosphere with very beautiful and sexy characters. A lot of content from a reliable developer.

The renderings are fabulous, the plot is good and the dialogues flow well.
The main character is well built and throughout the story he has various paths to follow and choices to make.
the female characters are good and there are many plots with possible developments with them
Updates take 3-4 months on average, in line with many other games.

This is a really good game. While it may lack exorbitant production of something like BaDIK, the renders are still sublime and the animations, albeit a little stilted, still look great.

The writing is a bit contrived at the beginning (even lampshaded by characters themselves) really picks up to become a rather cohesive, if simplistic, story.

The best feature of this game for me is it's atmosphere. Ironically, the soundtrack, made up mostly of solo acoustic guitar lends this game a very cozy feeling, reminiscent of the beach party scene. Maybe the game should've been called "Become an Indie singer-songwriter"?

Anyways, this game is really worth checking out and maybe even supporting on Patreon.

This game il really good i haven't finish it yep but so far i'm positively surprised, the scenario is good enough, and the graphic quality and animated scenes are very good, not a large choise of girls like some games but that probably for the best.

I think the storyline is cool and i really love when it just flow. Every characters has their own unique and appealing look an that's what I love!

But when it comes to progress, i didn't know where i am in the game. I hope the dev of BaRS could put a story progress in the future to see how much progress we've been through since BaRS didn't use the "episode" format.

Overall, this game is good and splendid. If you're reading this, keep up your good work Mr Jet. I'm looking forward for the next update

I've played quite a few games on this website and this one is very unique in a strange way. Its a good thing. I love the story telling. I love how it feels legit even tho its meant to be a sex game over all. Naming the band was cool (Named mine Sex Decay). Over all I think it deserve an excellent rating and I can't wait to see more.

Things To Know

• Story-driven game with minimal RPG elements.
• Is couple of hours in duration unless skipped through the unseen dialogues.
• Can not bang all the chicks using only one play-through... Well, actually you can do that but you would have to go back-and-fourth with the saves.
• The updates generally take 2 - 3 months.

Pros

1. Beautiful renders - This one is obvious.
2. Animations - The animations in the earlier part of the game is average but the later ones are top of the line and are very close to the finest this site has to offer.
3. Not a cock-tease - This game has a lot of sex scenes and definitely will not leave you with blue balls.
4. Story - The story is not very strong on this one, but still it is nonetheless better than that of most other good games on this site.

Cons

1. Lacks music - For a game themed around music, it doesn't have many music tracks.
2. I can not think of any other flaw other than the earlier animations and the update time.(I am not allowed to use update time to influence my rating)

HOTNESS SCALE - Scores 9.8 out of 10 on the hotness scale.

Conclusion:
This game is not perfect, but it is nonetheless definitely worth playing. It's one of the few games on this site that I look forward to playing every time an update comes out. Would've given this game a 4.7 instead of 5 if it were possible.

Game give you the feeling whats like to live a rockstar lifestyle. Theres lot of different girl and they are all beauty. Looks like choices matters so it could be complicated with all relationship. Lewd scenes animations are hot and smooth.

Story has a lot of weaknesses but is really interesting it offers different possibilities, but what really annoys me are these very Loooong miserable annoying dialogues that are really exhausting.

the MC is a man who has just moved to a Big City or.....?
...the should go out discover the City and not lead useless long dialogues in constant repetition.

Conclusion:

the game has undoubtedly good starting points but it is not one of the best games.
The development of the game is weak overall. The last update [v0.55] was disappointing. Nothing I haven't seen in the game before, it doesn't seem like progress but like a repeat!

...less pointless Dialogues more Animations would do this game good!

I have been trying to make it a habit to review that games/visual novels on here that I really enjoy, so spoilers, I really enjoyed this visual novel. Every aspect is at a high level.

The renders are excellent. Very clear and clean. Love the dept of field and portrait type shots. Some games do this for style points and fail. This game does it well.

The animations are very well done, and as time goes on they get better and better. Some of the best on you can find on here. There are multiple angles and more than one position, with dialog and such.

The story is also great and no I don't just like it because I love all types of rock music, it's written well but at the same time doesn't take itself so serious that it becomes boring, this is an adult game after all. But there are times were the writing shine and you can tell it is building up to something bigger. Good balance.

My favorite is the two red heads, I am sucker for red heads and in this game they are both sexy and know what they want, that's my type of women. That't nothing to take away from all the other heroines, they are all great looking and everyone has their preferences.

Become a Rock Star is highly recommend to anyone who loves a great adult visual novel.

Excellent renders and animations, interesting characters, plenty of potential love interests resulting in a bunch of well-executed different paths making playing the game multiple times worthwhile. Strong soundtrack as well. Developer is also really active and helpful in this forum. One of the best games on here .

Just watched the latest update (0.55) release that took the creator about 3 months and actually I wasn't disappointed from a technical POV. Animations, sounds, everything's big in place, really! It just didn't touch me, you know. My darkblue eyes missed something believable, anything or anyone to worry about, maybe. But there's just another boyish manwhore (MC) playing bass guitar in a nameless backstreet rockband for a change. And every girl in town is ready to have unsafe sex with him - how romantic! I wish he was POV, too. Yeah, some guys might argue with me about having choices (just like go add her to your harem y/n) but the truth is: if you want to see new VN content every now and then, there's no other way than to go all in - given that you're not just here to loot images folders! I totally like to get involved in a well-wrought story that leads to adult scenes, eventually. It's just too "poly"shed to rock me.

Overall, above average and thus recommended to follow.

Had checked out the CG for this game for awhile and always thought it was impressive. Finally decided to play and it is a really great game. The girls are all super hot. The renders are great quality as is the animation and the story itself is actually very good and moves along nicely. The only negative so far if I had to pick one is that the MC looks a little to rat like for the women to be falling all over him instantly but hey, maybe that the draw of the RockStar!
Definitely recommend it!

Fabulous game, the story is pretty good, the characters have realistic proportions for the most part, they have pretty realistic personalities, there is a ton of content. I love games that take a more realistic approach to relationships amongst other things. This is certainly one of those games.

This game has it all. It just needs more time to grow. Absolutely beyond excited to see more coming from this game, If you haven't tried it yet, do so.

==== Chara Design :
The models are cute, and we have a good variety of looks. Their body shape are well done and sexy. Personality wise, we do see some differences of behaviour and approach, even if sometimes they have sudden sex drive/personality change that is a bit unrealistic and do not always fit.

==== Story/Background :
There is an effort to put a real life background and story. It is not always very interesting, but the context is there and you can get more or less invested into the game. The writing style is OK, but a bit scholar. I think it lacks a little fun and spontaneity to be great. The MC is maybe the character that I think could be improved in many ways, he is not very likeable. Music is quite good.

==== Sex/Animations :
The renders are good and numerous. The animations are quite simple and short but they are believable and they are getting better with the updates.
A lot of possible positions, and also some sex scenes are quite intense, especially the ones that are supposed to be filled with love (with lisa for example) that last part being well expressed during the scene. Great Job on that point.

==== Gameplay/Contents :
The contents are quite large, considering it is a VN. There is very few time wasted on grind or useless stuff, so the 5-6 hours of play that I had until v0.5 are new contents.
There is a hidden system of points, love points for each character, but also good/bad points on MC behaviour. The answers are a bit obvious to select, most of the time. Still it doesn't matter, because the main choices you will have is to select the girls you want to go further with, and the kind of relationship you want to have with them, which will impact the kind of guy you are. For the moment, I do not see the consequences of bad actions so much, but maybe that will happen later. Overall a good VN with choices and routes.

We can feel this game was made with lot of thoughts and passion but the writing quality/pace, and the lack of fun prevents the game to be a masterpiece. It is not a very original game but it is still a good time to spend

One of the few games I had enjoyed, quite fast and objective, although the game underwent small changes due to Patreon regulations, as Jane was the MC's sister and this ended up being changed. Overall it's a great game with great scenes and characters, although I didn't really enjoy the story.

This is one the stronger games that has come out lately. The game has plenty of content and plenty of great girls, the renders are beautiful and there are some worthwhile decisions to make.
At the same time it is one of those RenPy games, so if you like the overall style of those games, you will enjoy this one. However if you don't, then you won't like this game either, because it doesn't really stand apart by much.
The game however is still worth 5 stars in my opinion, as it does what it should do - it offers you a great time leading to some very nice sex scenes, plus points for the rather nice animations.
