Under render settings>Filtering, do you use the default value of 1.5 for the 'Pixel Filter Radius'? Try lowering that to something like 1 or so. 1.5 blurs a bit too much. Also, 'mitchell' is usually the preferred choice for the pixel filter itself instead of the default 'gaussian'.
