VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.10.1] [Dr PinkCake]

For the longest time, I saw this game at the top of the charts. Super popular and well rated. After playing through Season 1, I can now see why. So much content here, I played over 40 hours in season 1 alone so far.

The animations were kind of sparse and a little clunky, but overall impressive and a really nice touch. I felt they got progressively better and more numerous.

I liked the dialogue and branching routes between dik and chick. It felt like it genuinely explored the pros and cons of each path without seeming too biased or toxic. Each of the main girls feels respected with fleshed out backgrounds and personalities. I was bothered by the locked content however. It requires a second playthrough at minimum to unlock and see everything, which was an unpleasant chore.

The music selection seemed to be a lot of creative commons tracks from SoundCloud. Shout out to the dev for digging deep to find some hidden gems. They've really become the sound of this game.

I'm really looking forward to playing the following seasons.

I'm pretty late to rate BaDIK, this game set the standard of AVN for me, giving me the very first top quality AVN taste.

Throughout of my journey of playing games here, playing underrated AVN'S is just a past time for me but when I hit this gold mine, my perspective in AVN games changed, and since then I'm craving for more.

BaDIK is kinda know all of the angle of AVN but its not the best of it, like its really good but certain part of it.. its not. Some chapters got a sandbox playthru which annoyed lot of players, tho DPK which is the creator, is working hard to cater to all of us, which is pretty respectable.

Storywise, I like it, its not boring and the humour of some characters especially Derek is amusing to me. Main LI's is pretty interesting especially the Chick path side. While the DIK path LI's is nice too tho it's not my cup of tea but I like the story of DIK path and in my opinion it could be better if DPK add more intense fight against the rival frat. Nonetheless, its good, pretty engaging and hoping that DPK lessen the "click*click*click" events.

My final thoughts is yes I highly recommend this game, the developer DPK is responsible and hardworking dev, a rare type of breed of a dev, and well respected in the community.

This is me saying you won't regret playing this game.

4 stars, good game ruined by weird choices that are there just to frustrate the player. DIK and CHICK mechanics tells you the state of devs trying to add complexity just because.

Almost a perfect game - but almost. Straightforward but engaging story, interesting characters, beautiful art - just read the other reviews and you will read numerous times about how good this game is. However, a rarely mentioned draw is that the game, in my opinion, became the victim of it's own size.
Only the first two seasons of the game weight something like 19 - 19! - gigs of content. That is about 12-14 hours of content. However, half of the scenes and the story you cannot get in one playthrough. After all. you have to choose only one character you want to focus on, cutting yourself out of others - a very original decision by developer, which, in my opinion, does not fit at all this genre. So, say, you played the game choosing your favourite girl. You think you can just load the save and choose another one to proceed with her story? Nope! Most of the girls are romanceable only depending on your DIK allignment, which means you have tp start very early. Why, I'll just skip the text with the control button! Ha-ha, sucker! Choke on hours of text walls and long-ass minigames! Could have skipped them in the beginning fifteen years ago, btw! And then you remember that the game is only halfway done. So in the end, a fantastic game, but proceed with caution and understanding that this is more of a soap opera than a porn game.
And just download the unlock mod.

The measuring DIK *cough* stick. Other devs get triggered by mention of this game in their threads, pretty much says it all. Excellent art, solid writing, engaging enough it never feels cookie-cutter. Enough content to legitimately warrant multiple playthroughs. DPC is slow, but reliable. Acting Lessons was very good, and this one has gone above and beyond that already high bar. This game puts hair on your chest, and once, after a bad storm in 2008, this game helped re-roof my house and put my kids through daycare. Thats just the kind of game this is.

Easily in the top 2 or 3 of the 20 or so AVNs I've played.

While I wish you could experience all the girls' full paths in a single playthrough, the story lets you really focus in on the ones that strike you the most.

There are a couple more debauched things I'm at least curious about that the game doesn't touch on, but do all games have to have options for every fetish out there? I feel like this game is actually more grounded in reality regarding the different stuff each character is into, and is good at avoiding obvious archetypical caricatures. This is a game I wouldn't be ashamed to share with my girlfriend.

I give it a solid A for anal, too. There are just the right amount of characters into anal that it doesn't feel unrealistic.
If you enjoy AVNs at all, you have to experience this one.

Everything has already been said about this game; it has influenced the world of adult visual novels so much that it has spawned many clones. It's a classic, a very good game. Although the storyline is not its strongest point, there's a whole packaging that makes the game enjoyable to experience and follow. So, I won't repeat what has already been said, but I wanted to leave a starred comment to say thank you.

I had this game recommended to me many times over and I finally plunged in recently. I've found it to be an interesting experience but nowhere close to what it was hyped up to be.

The story is interesting in the sense that there's ample player agency but the entirety of it is composed of over-the-top cringe. Maybe a part of that is on my sensibilities and what I find enjoyable.

The renders have highs and lows, some characters look really nice, some of them pull me out completely breaking immersion. The environments themselves seem to be very low quality, with walls and doorframes reminiscent of game geometry of 2004 video games. This is probably to accelerate render times and to achieve the breadth of content it has.

Scope is absolutely massive, amount of content is definitely 10/10. Player agency is something I've always found very interesting in most games and am drawn to it, so can't knock the game on that..

I have not experienced many, if any, problems with the game. Outside of disagreements about the story, all the lines are competently. written.

Definitely a good game, all things considered.

I am sorry to upset some of you but for me this was the most boring erotic game I ever played in my life, sure it has some great renders, graphics and animations, the story is kind of good but with no taboos that I like so it's just bland and boring for me, I will try to give it fair score but I am sorry I can't make it 5. Maybe if I wasn't an inc. degenerate I would give it 10 .

I had to share my thoughts on this game because it's truly one of the best visual novels I've played! The story immediately grabbed my attention with its engaging narrative that evolved into a complex and enjoyable experience with many choices to explore.

The music, models, and overall presentation made the game feel incredibly immersive. The "karma" system was a cool addition, unlocking different story routes and options with the female characters, which added even more fun to the gameplay.

I found myself thoroughly engrossed, constantly trying out different choices to see what would happen next. The adult scenes were tastefully done, adding to the overall experience without being over the top.

Chapter nine is enjoyable and enables different paths accordi8ng to your options.
It covers all story lines that you made is seasons one and two, add new characters and options, cannot wait for the next chapter

Gameplay:
Visual Novel (mainly), multiple paths, elements of sandbox/minigames
So, this is a very fine gameplay here. The main element is the Dick/Chick stat, which indicate what choices you made and lock/unlock scenes or characters. Require multiple runs (or parallel) to see everything, but don't do that on the first play.

Story:
The writing is absolutely fantastic and funny here. The characters are really interesting, and deep. It is very important not to look at a walkthrough in your first play, because whatever you choose, you can't really do a bad choice. Focus on the story, and choose what you feel right, otherwise you will miss what is important in this game.

Graphics/Animation:
Top-Notch graphics and animations (which make a huge size for the game). Despite the usual too big breast sizes, there are a lot of different characters, different places.

Overall impression:
I laughed a lot, in a silly way, behind my laptop. And yeah, the twists surprised me. The sex in the game doesn't feel out of place or completely impossible (well, some is). And also, the story led me to feel some difficult choice that are similar to some of the real life. Overall, I had great pleasure to play this game.

This is the crown jewel of F95zone. It's just the best game here. Yet, I feel like the last chapter kinda fell off. I was 100% expeting some of the "plot twists". Still, it's a game that must be played. I hope the dev team doesn't give up on writing a good story for the ending of the game.

Ive played several AVNs, and this one is the best overall. Gorgeous women, very well animated scenes, and personalities galore, with fun minigames. Ive done nine separate playthroughs just to see all the branching storylines, and am still not sure Ive seen them all.

It has everything an adult visual novel should have. Story, plot, animation, tragedies, consequences, feelings, emotions, dark world etc,

Best VN out there! Characterization is second to none! Excellently creative minigames! Realism in all the right places truly keeps the story believable and grounded. A huge step up from the dev's previous game, which was also quite good. Scenes and renders are super high quality.

Can't think of a better AVN out there right now. Girls, story, writing, even the music, great. Mini-games are a nice feature too. Been a while since I played but I think? you can skip them if you don't want to play them to advance the story. Either way. The best out there right now, this is the bar to get to, this is the standard to beat!
