So, this is one of these comments and all-too-common regurgitated points about Maya that I see as negative confirmation bias. People see 1 or 2 things and then blow it out of all proportion by conflating what they see to apply it everywhere even when that's not the case. Like the constant "she's always crying thing". She only does it like 4 times in the whole game if you're not on her path and 3 times if you are; Ep 2 after the cumpetition, Ep 4 when talking to the MC, Ep 5 if not on the path and you go to her after Pete's visit, and Ep 7 after Patrick shows up and Josy has to leave the dorm. That's it. And every time, it's for legitimate emotionally driven reasons.
Meanwhile, Josy cries a lot too, yet nobody ever brings that up. She cries in Ep 2 during the date, she also cries in Ep 4 when talking to the MC, she cries in Ep 5 if you go with her and aren't on her path, she cries in Ep 7 after the Patrick incident if you're not on her path, and she cries in Ep 9. Bella also cries, Jill cries, Sage cries, but no, nobody seems to care about that, do they? They all just pile on Maya like she's the only girl in the whole game who shows emotion and as if it's some great sin and massive character flaw for a person to feel sad when something hurts them.
You forgot ep 6, after she finds out that there is no free tuition. SHe also cries. Crying or whinning is the same thing for me. So she is always crying or whining. Lets not even talk how she can't show happiness when Josy's dad comes over to bring her things and tell he loves her. She can't feel happy for Josy. Or a feminist that thinks MC is a nice guy for paying her meal in season 1, instead of splitting the bill. MC gain points with her if he pays her meal. So she is one of those girls that wants equality but wants to keep the benefits of the chauvinist chilvary. This is an old discussion and I have pointed things I didnt like about Maya. As every player, I was once on her route, but decided that I wouldn't take her bullshit anymore.
Also, we are different people, you may think it is just me blowing things out of proportion when it is me reaching my limit of dealing with Maya. You may like that stuff and think it is cute and tolerate her behavior, but for me, it may not take a lot to get annoyed and move on.
You're trying to discredit my opinion by saying I am bias or blowing out of proportion, when it is just me expressing my opinion about how I feel about her character. People like different things.
Ps: On the other hand, the prostitute, drug dealer Quinn, gets beaten up by someone and when I offer her financial help, she tells me to keep my fucking money. What a Queen. She is a true feminist.
