That's an interesting point, but why CHICK specifically? That scene happens for both. I see it more as the one time he snapped, not a recurring thing or part of his personality.

And joking about her? I don't remember. He brings it up so casually sometimes, but he doesn't remember her, so it's not like it would bring painful memories. It's normal to him.
Yes, I quoted the CHICK MC but in any affinity he makes fun of his own dead mother. I chose to cite CHICK MC as an example so someone else doesn't answer me saying it's something based on choices (it's not).

[CANON]

MC "My friend Derek was joking about parents being here earlier."
MC "He said something along the lines of it being weird to have your mom do jaeger bombs with your friends at a party."
Sage "Hahaha! That's funny!"
Sage "Could you imagine? What if your mom did that?"
MC "Heh... I wouldn't mind seeing that."
Sage "Are you crazy? That's your mom!"
MC "I don't want to make this party even worse by talking about it, but she's dead."
Sage "What the fuck, dude!?"
MC "Hey... What?"
Sage "Why the fuck did you bring that joke up!?"
MC "I'm sorry?"

[OPTIONAL]

Sage "Now I feel like an insensitive fucking idiot."
MC "Hey, don't feel that way. She's been dead all my life, since giving birth to me."
MC "I'm fine with it."
Sage "Are you sure?"
"I'm sure":
MC "Yes, I'm sure."
"Joke":
MC "Knock knock."
Sage "What?"
MC "..."
Sage "Who's there?"
MC "My mom."
Sage "Fuck you. You're sick."

You didn't get it. Quinn craves the CHICK MC because she can always have DIK Student. People most often desire what they can't have or have a hard time getting.

With a DIK student, all Quinn has to do is snap her finger and she gets a dick to fuck. Quinn plays her games and needs an opponent who doesn't make it too easy for her.

Quinn herself gives a hint in EP8 about this when the MC teases Quinn during the Halloween party planning. The MC says so she's just jealous for the competition around him. Quinn response so he's only half the prize or something like that. That's more than clear.
Quinn calls CHICK MC a consolation prize, meaning only a loser would sleep with him, with DIK MC she's actually flustered by MC's taunt.

Call me Dalli, but I believe the CHICK MC has signs of psychopathy. That flashback to the MC with blood on his hands and the kid almost disfigured because the MC just couldn't stop hitting him always got to me.

Another thing that bothers me is how easy it is for the MC to make fun of his own dead mother. Even Sage is shocked at how naturally the MC makes silly jokes about his mother.
The MC shows no signs of psychopathy. He was rather introverted in the past. Upon meeting and becoming friends with Zoey, the MC began to deal with this personality trait. That's why the MC says about Zoey, so she helped him through hard times. Because Sage and Maya are also rather introverted, they quickly find contact with the MC.

In BaDIK we haven't seen a psychopath yet. If anything, Quinn shows sociopathic traits.

Sociopathy is characterized by 3 main traits:
- Impairment in the interpersonal domain (manipulating, cheating);
- Problems in the affective domain (lack of empathy, ruthlessness, flattened affect, lack of guilt and remorse);
- Impulsivity and antisocial behavior (criminal, taking advantage of others, irresponsibility).

In a way, all of this applies to Quinn.

This is not normal. It can't be normal. It doesn't matter if he remembers her or not, this is his mother.
It's an empty word to someone who's never experienced what having a parent is like. Especially when they don't exactly have friends and see them interact with their own parents.

If a person does not have a family, then he is alone in this world. Any friends are really just strangers. It's just nice and interesting for you to spend time with them. But by and large, except for the family, everyone else doesn't give a shit about us.
Well, she had a father as a child. A crappy one, mind you. But she wasn't really alone in this world. It was her father's responsibility to raise her. We can always, and should always, educate our children so that they don't make our mistakes. But, of course, maybe that's asking too much of someone like Rox.

On the other hand, it seems appropriate to recall now the first lines of the narration of Fuckface's story, at the beginning of the game. It gives us an idea of what is probably the central theme and common to all the important characters of the game.

Family.

My dad once told me that a family is more than blood relations. Being related doesn't necessarily make you family. Family are the people who support you in your choices. Family will help you grow. Family doesn't give up on you in times of need. Family are the ones who love you for you... whoever that may be.

Even if you lose your family... or if your family loses you. Don't stop. Find new ones to love and somewhere else to call home.

Say what you will about the guy, but the doc knows how to strike a chord in writing.

What I like about this scene is that like the MC, Sage didn't know her mother either, but even so she is extremely upset because of the joke the MC made in reference to his dead mother.

It's like a contrast: Sage didn't know her mother, but she empathizes. The MC didn't know his mother and he doesn't give a shit about making jokes.

I particularly found it strange that the MC made jokes about his deceased mother, I don't know how a person who grew up without his mother thinks, so... Who knows...

I just finished the interlude and started a bit of episode 9. Does choosing one path at the end of episode 8 really lock you out of contents from multiple girls, without using mods/cheats?

I kind of enjoyed the content Isabella, Jill, Sage, Jade, Josy and Maya. Do I really have to pick just one? If so, can I circumvent this through mods? I don't mean just unlocking the sex scenes. I want to read through their stories as well.

Also, although I like big tits, I hope there'd be scenes with Sally in the future.

considers his joke as a way to get out of embarrassment and to get Sage out of embarrassment as well

if he had answered Sage's question in earnest it would have created an uncomfortable situation (like the one created with Jill in the car), instead so it allowed Sage's gaffe to be quickly overcome

I have seen worse done

We don't know that Sage didn't know her mother, we don't know when she went into the foster system. In fact given Sage refuses to discuss the Morgan part of her name and gets angry about it rather than just saying "I never knew my birth parents." hints that she did know her birth parents and there's a story there that might link into the current story.
True! I never thought about the possibility that Sage had lived with her true parents for a few years... If that happened and she was put up for adoption, her story is even sadder...
