The important part is the second part of the sentence. She trusts Chad, she doesn't trust this new guy. If some guy you've barely ever met before came saying that your boyfriend you've known and been in a relationship for years stole something from him you would at least question if that's true or not. I'm surprised she gave him the guitar that quickly, I wouldn't have until I confronted Chad about it.
Nah not even, a gift out of the blue for no reason other than claim "look what I got you" without a case or guitar accessories. You'd think a gift from a millionaire would have a case to go with it would be the least to be expected, now you're just arguing how dumb Sage really is. lol

lol Fair enough.

Yeh Quinn is a special animal.
DPC said it perfectly and it's an exact reflection of how I feel about her.

I love to hate her when not on her path for what she does.

And hate to lover her when on her path, because that's when you see that she can clearly be more than a simple bitch and can show an interesting side to her.
For me, Quinn is a soul mate. I know I'm a cynical bastard, devoid of empathy, but looking at her, I feel some kind of warmth. For some reason I want to protect her. It's probably something like a sense of solidarity. I absolutely don't give a fuck what happens to the rest. I don't care about them. I know that the world is cruel, and the people in it are cruel. Although they pretend to be such respectable and kind inhabitants, smiling at each other. In fact, most of them, in case of real danger, will be ready to bite each other's throats for a safe place in the boat. The Joker was right about people. But Quinn isn't pretending to be kind.

Why would a guy lie about something like that? She might not trust fuckface but she knows that Chad and him have issues. She saw him get bullied by Chad and his gay club. Trust her boyfriend really? That boyfriend who was cheating on her and treating her like shit. :HideThePain:

I'm honestly eager to see how her path evolves in future episodes.

How I organized my save paths for future episodes is:
Bella first followed by Quinn's.
Then the Other's path. (I realze Quinn's is in that path, but I have a seperate Other's path for Nicole, Zoey, others and solo)
Then Sage, M&J and Jill. (yeh dead last lol)

Counterpoint: Joker was explicitly proven to be wrong about people, by the people.

You've answered your own question there. If a guy got picked on then he has plenty of reason to try to badmouth and otherwise shit on someone they've got a beef with. At least as far as someone who saw that is concerned.
And what if you're on the DIK path and chose to stand up to Chad when he's bullying Sage in the cafeteria at the beginning? Would she still think this after she saw the MC have an ounce of honor over her cheating BF?

In this scenario the MC is a troublemaker who's got a beef with her boyfriend still. Again, hardly a reason to simply take his word at face value.

"Ounce of honor"? Please. For all we (Sage) know he's just trying to get into Sage's pants (and he is, ofc)

True, but at least it's in HER pants he's trying to get into, that much can't be said about her actual BF. And if she's as smart as you're making her out to be, she should recognize this.

At that moment Sage didn't have any reasons to doubt Chad. Would you trust a complete stranger over your boyfriend without question?

That's a good point, but I'm not sure the MC knew his guitar was stolen by Chad yet.

Was he wrong ? Why? Because that's how it was shown in the movie?
He set up a dumb test which was supposed to demonstrate the very thing you (and he) claimed, that people are all too willing to throw others under the bus for their own survival. But the result of it was the opposite.

Joker is trying to drag everyone to his own level to show that he isn't a monstrous outlier but a norm. You're doing pretty much the same with your defense of Quinn -- "oh she's shit but everyone is and she's honest about it!". Which is double wrong -- not only everyone isn't like that, but Quinn spends half her time pretending to be all innocent and not doing shit things, to people around her. Instead of "being honest" about her shittiness.

This is not true. Sage and Chad are at odds from the very beginning. First time we see them, they are having a quarrel in the cafeteria, because, as we later are said, Sage already heavily suspected that Chad was cheating on her.

It just that's how it was shown in the movie. Nothing else. This does not mean that the same would happen in real life.
We have numerous cases in real life where people would literally give up their place in a lifeboat for someone else, and not just refrain from murdering them to save themselves. So yes, it does happen in real life, too.

Just as an example:
On the night of the sinking, Isidor and Ida were seen standing near Lifeboat No. 8 in the company of Ida's maid, Ellen Bird. Although the officer in charge was willing to allow Isidor to board the lifeboat with the women, Isidor Straus refused to do so while women and children still remained on the ship. He urged Ida to board, but she refused, saying, "We have lived together for many years. Where you go, I go." This incident was witnessed by numerous witnesses both in the lifeboat and on deck. The Strauses were last seen standing arm in arm on the deck.

Do you think she has to do shit all the time?! Look, we are bad people - a free people. We are not trapped in any framework of generally accepted rules. We can pretend if we want, or we can not pretend. We don't need to show someone our "shittiness". We don't need to show anything to anyone at all. Because we don't owe anyone anything. If we want to deceive someone, and pretend for this not to be who we really are, then we do it solely for our own benefit, and not to impress someone.

Remove the comfort of the convenience of grocery stores and electricity, and to quote Vladimir Lenin "We're just 3 meals away from total chaos". Humans are still neanderthals when it comes to survival. Perhaps for close family members and loved ones this would not be so true, but as your neighbor, you'd better be wearing a heavy steel plate on your back because the knives are coming out, it's just a question of time.
