I had to google yangire to know what it means. I don't know that much manga/anime slang. Anyway, right now I don't see any reason to think that Lily fits into that personality type. What is it that you see in her that makes you think that? Her resemblance to Harley Quinn perhaps?
Yangire as in evil genius. Possibly without the trauma thing, we dont know yet. It is rather clear that she is hiding something. She is extraordinarily percetive and intelligent. She seems to notice EVERYTHING. Bella also mentions she is one of her best students. Yes, she also looks like Harley Quinn.
It's also a creepy vibe I get from her. I don't see her being attracted to the MC. She seems too... calculating... that may not be the right word. Could it all just be in my head? Yes. Would I cross to the other side of the street if I saw her? Also yes.

Edit: She's always in control. Always... that's it.

MC is developing material to become a pimp.
He has the girls (Lily, Sandy, Envy, Camilla, Sarah, Mélanie... and can recruit).
He knows drug dealers (Quinn and his supplier)
He has connections to get a good place to rent (Rusty, Jill ?)
He has people to handle security, storage, barmaids... (DIKs brothers)

He will provide work to all BaD characters, with divine Quinn as associate.
You forgot that his dad works in construction so it would be easy to launder money as well as give unruly business associates the Jimmy Hoffa treatment and disappear them into some quick-drying cement.

Thank you so much for sharing. I have a lot of catching up to do [Like all of season 3], so this is very helpful. Much appreciated.

Can you be friendly with Cathy/Jade on a Maya+Josy run? Any restrictions like how your character breaks things up with Jade on the Sage path and Jill does so if you mess with Cathy?

I wouldn't be so sure that the game will be as safe as possible and will not throw any serious challenges to the player. We were only halfway through the game and if we go back to the AL experience, then all the serious shit started towards the end. Of course, if things go smoothly during seasons 3-4, nothing serious will happen, if MC doesn't receive consequences for his stupid decisions - I will be seriously disappointed.
its been a while for sure, but i think that Melissa's abusive father(?) was introduced pretty soon after meeting her and the Arthur fist meme scene on the front lawn was pretty serious and dark and tense for the AVNs of the time. i think the tone was set pretty early on that this game has some real shit to show you and its not just jerking itself off

I don't know why you're characterizing the game/development as a sellout. DPC straight up said he was aiming for a more light college romp from the get go, and was inspired by things like Animal House/American Pie. There's zero evidence he ever wanted to tell some other version of the story, he's delivered exactly what he said he was going to do.

I liked AL, but never expected BaDIK to be in a similar vein. So it's something of a mystery to me how anyone could feel expectations aren't being met.

DPC is definitely a different dev compared to when he started out though. He was quite engaged at f95 initially. Though it's not surprising he soured after all the vitriol thrown his way about the AL twists. Not unique to DPC either, losts of devs who were active here retreat if there's a lot of angst or their game gets big (so they spend all their time in official channels).
yes, im aware what he said he wanted to do. but its hard to look at that as an honest decision once he tallied up how much money he was bound to make with LCD content (IMO). while the production quality is great and the characters are compelling for what they are, the narrative is literally just recycled tropes that we have already seen too many times to count. if you try to look at BaDIK like a piece of legitimate creative media, its incredibly boring/uninspired compared to AL and other actual stories. and i personally find that a little disappointing considering the game we got before this one. sure you can say in 10 years when the game is finally done maybe something new and different and genuine will be in the story, but as of the current like 5+ year dev cycle its not particularly creative/exciting/fresh.

look at it this way, if there were extremely limited sex scenes in BaDIK i can guarantee you that it wouldnt be very popular compared to what we currently have. the narrative isnt really good enough to carry the game as a whole; in other words BaDIK needs the porn element to survive where i dont think something like AL actually needed that to tell a compelling story with characters you can easily get invested into because of how well realized and organic they felt.

"sellout" isnt a personal attack against DPC as a shitty human being. its merely an observation of the complete 180 he has made as the creator during AL to the creator we have now. plenty of actors/directors/writers/etc will sell out for a big paycheck, its not anything new. but there are a few that never did and that really does make them special. i just had higher hopes for DPC after AL, and considering he will probably just retire after BaDIK since it will take like another decade to finish, im disappointed that these are likely the only two things we will ever get from him. i hoped he would have been a unique voice from a storytelling perspective for some time to come after AL.

just my two cents, you dont have to agree and thats fine. but i just wanted to elaborate

Now, that part I marked in bold always pisses me off. Even if you are her (Bella's) boy, even if you are fucking nailing every single class mini-game, meaning you are getting only perfect scores in class, that evil witch (hey, Bella fans, relax, I'm not totally serious here. I think this is just one DPC's oversight) will still not include the MC as one of her favorite students when asked in episode 9. Insulting, I'm telling you.

Hmm... I agree with your general take on her to a certain extent. Right now, I have mixed feelings about Lily. I wouldn't trust her all right. She's one of the biggest mysteries in the story. And her warning to the MC at the end of episode 9 sounds ominous in my head. But on the other hand, she was there for Quinn when the latter was confronted by Vinny at the Halloween party. And Quinn implicitly thanked Lily for entering the scene and helping her when she was having that tense encounter with Vinny. Although if we assume that Lily is in fact one evil mastermind, that gig may have been part of her plan to gain Quinn's trust, only to stab her in the back later on... Food for thought.

I am in the camp that Lily is good people. She is just ambitious and ruthless at getting her goals. The earlier EP10 preview (Lily path, no other sides or influence) departs from the end of EP9 where she says, "don't fall in love with me".

For her, it is possible she is in love with MC.
Do you have a link to that preview by chance? I searched around and struggled to find it. Thank you.

Yes, she is really interesting, it is a pity that she has not much a screentime yet. And even when she blows the MC, she still somehow seems aloof. As if it's just a small courtesy gesture, she actually has more important things to do. I hope we're far behind the theory that she's an undercover cop?

I just want to come back here to say I (among others) was right about the 9 month development cycle. Despite the improved hardware, DPC will always find a way to lengthen development. With the recent status update showing no end in sight, there's not a chance the next episode releases next month. At least I can gloat about that while waiting for our yearly BaDIK release.

i had mentioned during the whole Interlude thing that we would likely be getting a single calendar year release from then on. he has no reason to go any faster after people already enthusiastically ate that delay up

That always rubbed me the wrong way too.

To be fair, Lily telling the MC not to fall in love with her could be a reverse dare, whether or not she's an evil genius. It would actually fit a bit better if she weren't. But then again, I think the MC is just collateral damage in Lily's quest to overthrow Quinn, a girl wo tries to hide her feelings for the MC but fails miserably. Guess who noticed that...

About the undercover cop theory, I don't like it. For starters, unless we get proof that she is older than that, I'm going to assume that she is around 19 years old as a freshwoman. Too young in my book to be given a job of that nature. KARAMBA once suggested that she might be working for the police, for example, in the case that she holds some criminal record as a way to settle her debt to justice and start fresh. That sounds a bit better to me than she directly being a cop. But who knows?

Yeah, same. I might drop a one time payment at some point, but atm I'm not even invested in the game so much, because of so much waiting. I started when ep8 was released (and supported for half a year) and I already feel like I waited for eternity and game hasn't progressed that much. Can't imagine for people that started earlier than me (although early episodes probably didn't take this long to come out).
If Zoey become one of the MGs and then possibly Quiin, we are surely gonna be waiting more than a year for an episode.

As long as DPC maintains the same quality that Being a DIK had so far, I don't mind waiting 10 or 11 months for a new episode, in the end the wait will have been worth it.
