Well... I unfortunately got to agree more with walker188 on this one
. Sage was undisputed for me as THE BEST LI up until episode 5. Of course I liked the other ones (mainly Maya and Jill, how naive I was) and Quinn was always fun, but Sage was just the GOAT at that point. That Episode 5 scene with Sage in Tyballs room is still one of the hottest in the game in my opinion Then episode 6 came along and with Quinn finally showing that she had the potential and content of a Main LI (mind you that I always liked her but I thought that she was just a side character up to that point), I started to put both Sage and Quinn as my 2 top LIs. This was also the update that killed Jill to me, where the Maya "situation" started to become a bit "too much" and we got the true start of the Bella path.
But then, after episode 6, Sage started to get some "questionable" writing decisions that made her path tough to play even for me (mind you these are the views of a Full DIK player): The whole unavoidable "rebound guy" stupidity, the MC being incapable of fucking Sage because hes "still shocked about who her family is" (while shes RIDING HIM)
. Hell, after Sage gives him Anal AND the chance of trying out new things "there comes the guilt again"??????? (mind you that my MC didnt give his recording of fucking Jade so theres no evidence against him)ALL these things are the tipical DPC style of throwing shit at the wall to see if it sticks
It wasnt that Sage herself "changed" or that her character somehow got "worse" or that their relationship isnt wholesome, but these writting decisions make 0 sense and are painful to watch
... But I guess those are on par with Jill being dumb enough to believe Tyballs blackmail OR the whole Maya situation for every path Looking at the game now: Quinn keeps getting better and better, Bella is on par if not better than Sage (but I guess she will have her stupidity coming up soon after 4 episodes of perfection), and Josy would be there too if it wasnt for the fact that she doesnt have a solo path

Derek has a perfectly serviceable room (though the fire marshal would disagree) if he just gets that ridiculous bar out of there.

Agreed. Sage is good fun, but the problem is the MC keeps killing her boner. But y’know, when you’re young and dumb, all these things are really big deals, and need to be dealt with right now. You grow up and learn better. There’s time. And after your girl is well and truly fucked and afterglowing, she’s really open to suggestions, so that’s when you subtly, slowly start prying. Not while you’re inside her—unless of course you like your sex to be really, really dry.
(I should point out I ditched all the paths where the MC recorded fucking Jade, because it’s way funnier to watch Derek resort to granny-fucking. Likewise all the paths where he fucked both Jade and Sage, because in episode 8 he’s no longer allowed to fuck them simultaneously—and I want him to fuck them simultaneously. Family reunions are more fun that way!)

Holidays are the best time to release, have you noticed how often there are top main stream games released around Xmas, on top of that, not everyone can do 'family things' during the holidays for various reasons, and holiday tv is rubbish.

This is a short update on the progress for this week.
I've mainly worked on fixing everything on the to-do list I wrote while playing the first initial runs. I posed new renders and around six new SFW animation files that were needed. When writing this, the render queue is down to 52 animation files.
I've also worked a great deal on music and sound effects by adding new sounds and calls in the code. The free-roam events needed polishing, and I worked on minor things like money/special render placements and bigger things like scene variations and phone chats/Rooster.
After completing the list of to-dos, I played a couple of extra playthroughs on Sage's and Isabella's branches and started writing a new to-do list.
I needed a small break from that kind of work and started fixing dialogue by parsing all the text of episode 10 instead. Dialogue, phone content, mini-game content - everything written was parsed and polished, which took me nearly three days using software as an aid. Parsing dialogue helps the upcoming proofreading process. I usually do this once per episode, and now it's done for episode 10.
Now, I'm back to playing the game again, and my focus next week will be looking into choices, consequences, affinities, and variations of scenes. I'll specifically look into extending and altering scenes that need it and ensuring that variations can be reached based on previous choices. I'll be playing a bit of every branch to cover as much ground as possible with this focus in regard.

You should probably play now, you might you need to do a few runs to see most of the game. If you do that you'll still be playing when the next update drops.

Well, Jill is definitely a demanding girl.
Don't question it. The whole story is a huge nonsense comedy, starting from MC not knowing his maternal family name and ending with the whole Maya tuition's affair.
Have fun and just take it as it comes.
I think there is also with Jill the fact that Tremelo didn't know who her family was, whereas all the others that tried to date her did for that reason. She seems a bit naïve when it comes to her families wealth and thinks that's the reason anyone wants to know her, so the fact the MC doesn't know about her family means to her that he likes her for her and not her wealth.

On topic though, in AAA companies marketing departments typically set release dates. This is to maximize profit around the holidays to get your gift giving dollars, or Euros, or pounds sterling, whatever the monetary unit. It's when people typically spend the most money. It's also why you have zero day patches, and games full of bugs around release time because it's to maximize profit not to put out the best product. Only catastrophic bugs will stop a game shipping on time.
That's AAA though, for smaller devs like DPC it doesn't make sense to use the holiday window to release for profit because he's not releasing for profit. He won't release Season 3 on Steam and GOG until it's complete and the bump he would get in Patreon subscriptions for release would happen regardless of what month it releases.
