Thats a bit of an exaggeration. Or liberal interpretation of said disclaimer i'd say. If i see such disclaimer for example i still wouldn't expect gore, cannibalism, suicide appearing in detailed fashion on screen. Even in AL we experienced something of an implied death, and it was quick and clean.

Systematically staying away from Maya, thus ignoring her can lead to things but if someone is so uninterested in her plot then why bother. From both player and storyteller point of view. If i don't care it would just annoy me to get another one-liner detailing Maya's grim fate. That would be very poor storytelling, guilt tripping the player is bad. And if i care about her plot because i pursue her plot its obvious why i don't wanna see it happen and the player would want a resolution that is not something of a bad end no matter what.

So dark themes doesn't mean that dark. Should not mean. Suffering is worse than death. Thats why the death in AL didn't cause such backlash as some thought it would. Because quick, painless, one-time thing it was. Now depicting the transition of a desperate but good girl into forced drug addiction and prostitution is entirelly different. Thats something i'm not expecting to see.

I can imagine just dancing on the edge of it, like for example Maya tries to but when she sees the guy's cock she bails. Something like that would fit the tone of the story.
BUT.. there is a huge but here. Derek already showed that he is actually quite overprotective of her sister. Plus Josy is here too and will be very close to Maya. So this whole prostitution thing is very unlikely with people like those two around her. Would require quite a juggle from dpc to make it happen in a way the player could actually believe none could've interrupted it. Especially if the player is interested in Maya and would try to intervene. Both Derek and Josy would be prone to alert the mc in case the danger would be real.
Am I the only one who thought that "disclaimer" at the beginning was just a little bit patronizing? It almost certainly had to be a direct response to the wall of complaints he got during Action Lessons, and it seems just a tiny bit like a "Awww, baby didn't like the story I wrote. This'll be just as bad, so if you're the type who gets their knickers in a twist over stupid crap, you'll hate this too. Bye, Felicia."

Anyway, if anything, that cements my belief that something horrific is going to happen. I feel like at this point, the man can't help himself. He takes his writing cues from the "Shock Jock" school of writing, and I very much believe that's going to manifest in an almost compulsive need to go "bigger and better" in terms of shit hitting the fan.

So, yeah. What's "better" than the sudden and unceremonious dispatching of a character with a bit of convenient arson? Well, watching them spiral into a morass of drug use, prostitution and other skeeviness. Because... you know, "real life is harsh," and we absolutely have to reflect "real life" here.

I wish Maya or another one of the girls was more toned/have a 6-pack. I guess Bella would be the fittest.

Although I don't know why but it's visually appealing to me for Maya's design to have a nice bellybutton with a stud in a short crop-top and skirt.
Yes i've been telling people Bella is the fittest

not really, its his game so he can do what he wants. Too many people complained about AL so he doesn't want a repeat of that

Well, we might need to remember that AL was a story with a pretty personal idea behind it. There was cheating in DrPC's past, and he incorportated those and other ideas into it.

This time round, I think he's mostly into just telling an engaging story. It'll still be HIS story though, so whatever the audience says, he probably won't change anything. And hense the warning: this is might cause some feelings, so try not to cry too hard.

I can't say it's a bad way to go about things. I like when an author has a vision and follows through with it.

Maya is desperate, she was willing to do stuff since 1st episode but she won`t go all the way,it`s not that type of a game.
I can only echo what Ennoch said,if you`re on Maya path, you want her for yourself. If you`re on someone else`s path why would game punish you for liking someone else?
There are scenes and lines of dialogue making sure the audience knows Quinn`s restaurant is a volunteery thing,it`s not forced,it`s an option. So corrupt her?No but train with her? That`s a different matter ;)
Well.Good. She already seems willing to do anything to get the tuition. Now, the MC may change his mind after the unexpected visit at the end of Chapter 3. In fact, he no longer trusts her. How will do? Tha's the question.

I'm surprised you gave that the time she is safe from all that based on the fact she is a Li we don't want to be going down those routes and now she has Josy around.
YEs, and I repeat again that Josy is going to create problems, well what the hell, she has already started to create them

Agreed. Frankly I'm baffled with Chad, he can barely keep Sage satisfied yet apparently has a phone sex pal on the side. Sometimes I get the feeling he's with Sage mostly for the status these days. Being the frat president dating the sorority president. Maybe it's a recent development when he started taking steroids and they were a lot more active before?

Then again the way he and his crew are portrayed... not really the sharpest tools in the shed. I am literally in stitches at their dumb, dumber and dumbest routine.
I think you hit the nail on the head with that one. It currently reads like a "marriage of convenience." And Chad's... problems in the bedroom do seem to stem from the drug use. But if that were the case, then yeah, you'd wonder how he's managing to keep a girl on the side. Unless that "side piece" is also just trying to cash in on the status symbol thing as well. Being known in certain circles as the girl the frat president is cheating on his actual girlfriend with could bring with it a good bit of influence.

As for the Alphas being portrayed as imbeciles, well... the majority of the background cast are pretty cookie-cutter. There's really nothing to any of the Alphas other than "big, dumb jocks," there's not much to the sorority other than "We're slutty. Woo." The nerds are nerdy, the rich kids are snobbish. I mean, they're all stereotypes, and arguably the reasoning behind not making them more than the stereotypes is so that the "main" characters stand out more. Jill stands out more because she's kind of part of the rich clique but doesn't act stereotypically "holier than thou." (just as the first example off the top of my head.)

That's just it. I don't expect him to change anything. That's what I'm getting at. It almost seems like that "warning" at the beginning is "I'm doing this the way I want to, some of you with delicate feelings may not like it. Oh well." It just comes across as him acknowledging that people didn't like his "vision" for his last game, therefore he's very passively-aggressively telling those people off by saying "You won't like this. And I don't care that you don't."

(Shrug)

Thing is, there's a lot to be said for "artistic integrity." I know there's a lot of disdain for people who "sell out." You had an idea for a thing, then people told you that your idea sucked, it wasn't going to work and you changed everything. And that's looked down upon. I understand that.

But at the same time, history is full of people who thought they, and only they, knew what they were talking about when it comes to writing a story or directing a movie or painting a portrait or what have you. And there is such a thing as ignoring useful criticism. Which, in my opinion, can be just as bad as "selling out."

I've gone on record as saying that I think Cake is good at certain aspects of storytelling. Like, genuinely good, I'm not bullshitting when I say it. But I've also gone on that very same record as saying there are some things he doesn't do well. And I think his sort of odd fascination with "dramatic twists" is one of those things. And it certainly doesn't help that there's a growing trend of that sort of thing in today's entertainment media, with people just kind of blindly eating it up. I don't think he's quite drifted over the line into "being edgy" for the sake of being edgy - as in creating melodrama just to spice things up a little, but I can't help but just be wary of every narrative decision he makes because I'm constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.

So far his twists have been pretty good though, they build the anxiety for the a new episode.

I know there is going to be some drama between the 3 of them but Josy and Maya still have a lot of explaining to do I wonder how they will take it with each other and what they have been doing with the MC
Seeing how the MC leaves the room, don't expect a bouquet of roses and a kiss from him.

Guys in general - don`t take resources in this game literally,no matter how you gonna look at them, they don`t translate into real world money.Camilla charges 1$,Riona charges 2$,Sarah charges 3$,even if we translate 1$ into 100$ that still doesn`t work because Derek charges 1$ for a single cheat and Rusty gives MC the unimaginable fortune of 5$.

Resources are there to be there,to serve it`s purpose and a bit as a plot device and they work however plot needs them to work in the moment.

The tuition is there for the working girls,it worked for Quinn and Riona for at least a year.Is there even a cut for Quinn?Doesn`t look like it,she`s not getting rich,in fact for some reason she wants to cover more girls, while it creates shortage of needed money(more girls=more money needed for tuitions).
Hey, the note I took from Maya's cupboard door was clearly marked as a 20.
As it increased my MC's funds by $, this makes 20=1$ canon!

Joking with you. I agree with your post.

Did you ever do this? I think I played it once or twice and just ended up getting frustrated with it I'm not sure if it's any easier with a mouse or a trackpad?
Mouse most def. I think Blablablafapper is the only one who has been able to win that minigame with a trackpad.
It's pretty easy with a high-precision mouse. Don't skimp on the mouse if you play competitive games online people :)

It suggest that he simply left from of room. The last words of Maya'swhen saw Josy was "I'm panicking, help!" Like saying: "Everything is going to be taken for ass" :ROFLMAO:
He was feeling upset that much we gathered by his thoughts at the end when he was thinking if he should trust them again or not I think he has rushed in with that and simply just needs to think this situation through with Maya and Josy

He's doing it, that's why he left the room
