The first eight episodes were a tug-of-war between Tremolo and each woman. Each provided a challenge that had to be overcome and outsmarted in various ways, whether by throupling MJ and keeping it secret or playing coy with Jill whilst running Bella down the "we're just friends" route until there were actual feelings. You cared about each woman and wanted to see how those relationships would change and grow.
But now it feels like DPC is the victim of his own perfection. He's spent so much time perfecting his women over those first eight episodes that he's grown bored of them. The relationships took few, if any, steps forward over the last two chapters. The girls revealed very little about themselves that we didn't already know or couldn't simply infer. Even the sex scenes hardly advanced their characterization.
Instead, DPC decided he wanted to be a dramatist rather than an eroticist and focus on the token background plots that no one cares about. DPC, if you're reading this, I do not care about how Maya pays for college. Worst case, she gets a job at In-N-Out and we still bone daily. If she finds $50,000 in a briefcase in the middle of the road next patch and I never hear about her free tuition again, I'll be overjoyed. Likewise, I really don't care about the drugs. Quinn does not seem like the type of individual to survive beyond five more years no matter how much money or drugs she has to her name. If maybe she was trying to save up money to escape this life, I could sympathize. Otherwise, she's obviously suicidal and it's hard to feel for her.
On that note, I can scarcely think of any F95 games which have background plots worth caring about. I'm talking about games that I would keep playing even if the porn were to disappear. Power Vacuum is really the only one that comes to mind.
