It's how she's been consistently acting around MC for a while now. She says it herself: that the "weird tension" after reading Lynette's diary made her panic and run off. Then she hears his confession and bluescreens. Then she figures out how she feels about him and panics again. Finally she gets his text at the end of the episode, pretty sure that makes her panic how to reply to it and so she delays it, too.
Zoey is generally confident and easygoing, but not when it comes to her own feelings.
