The last part is suitable description for all religious people.
But not for Patrick. Patrick uses religion as an alibi because he doesn't live by it.
Because the game is not about your MC and your choices. And since you buiding a theory based on something that depends on player choices you should at least make it coherent and notice how author of game could play it out in both circumstances.
In the game it is based on my decision as a player of the MC, because there will be different endings, so the decisions as a player are important for these different endings, because otherwise there would only be one ending. Simple logic.
The moment you're talking is about Maya meant free tuition from HOTs and was more confident than ever before to get this free tuition even if some of the scavenger hunt tasks was uncomfortable and inapropriate for her. She clearly wanted to get rid of the Patrick by getting this free tuition from HOTs, so she can tell Patrick to fuck off. That's why she was so desperate later when she realized that it was also a lie (well, not, but she hadn't "fitted" and even so, I doubt that she would go for it if only she known what free tuition was about). She saw it as the only chance to get out of Patrick's trap.
Regarding porn... Patrick is very conservative and old-fashioned. Maya mentioned this magazines once btw, that Derek used to "use" them in the context that these were the only books he "read".
But seriously... The dude has been living with his sick wife for almost 20 years. He clearly wasn't cheating on her, so... the only option for him is to jerk off. It's strange to explain such obvious things. And don't tell me that "religious" people don't jerk off, have sex, etc., and if they do, it's only for childbirth purposes. Spare me these fairy tales. It's a bullshit.
But it showed that Maya is willing to do anything to break various boundaries to achieve her goal of freeing herself from Patrick.
Yes, I know that Maya mentioned Papa's porn magazines, I think in EP2 or EP3, in class.
Maybe it's because he hasn't had sex with a woman in 20 years. But what does the Bible say? So Patrick is exposed as a hypocrite of his religion. But in principle I don't care because Patrick is a pig to me either way.
What picture? I've lost touch
If you are talking about render from outside the window, showing MC and Maya running inside the classroom, then there is no evidence that somebody watching on them of takes a photo. There're a lot of same shit, including Bella's place at night, etc. For me it still seems like DPC way of fucking with players, especially ones, who played AL. Because similar render there was used to point on Leah (crazy psycho bitch).
But what if DPC didn't screw us over in this context? That's the thing about possibilities. Either he screws us over or he doesn't and presents us with the solution later. You can't rule out both.
The major and most important consequences of solo Maya path that Josy will be absolutely devastated, even worse than in case of break up with Throuple. Because she loses both Maya and MC and remains completely alone. The very nightmare she had tried so hard to avoid and talked / meant about. After break up with Throuple, she at least have Maya and they getting motivation to save their relationship (if DPC will decide such outcome as an option and will write this sub-path in this way, of course).
On the other side, I can barely imagine consequences for solo Josy path. Because it was Maya words, that nobody should be forced to something if he feel different. And they both know that their own relationship goes south when they are not in Throuple. So, at first solo Josy path feels better and safer in terms of consequences. But let's wait and see.
Why you dragging different events from absolutely different paths and outcomes to some particular theory, while when playing for solo Maya you barely doesn't have those scenes and options that you had mentioned? No photos/videos, no class room, no curtain scene, etc. The only thing that may affect somehow the solo Maya path is telling Josy about Chad & Troy, since if you confide in Josy, she comes up with a "beard" idea and MC comes back to Maya's home as her boyfriend (and it would be evil move from DPC if this option will be req for success with Maya solo path, because in such case, Josy literally fucking up herself by coming up with this idea.)
Of course, Josy would be devastated if she lost both of them. That is beyond question. But Maya's first love is and remains Josy, and that will never change. What is important here is what Maya says to MC when he asked her how she feels after talking to Patrick. She doesn't feel good because her father only accepts her if he thinks she's heterosexual. On the one hand, this is already an indication that Maya loves Josy and is bisexual, because otherwise Maya would feel comfortable. But she doesn't. Strangely enough, Maya tells the MC when she spends Friday with him so that she feels more comfortable with the MC than with Josy. Do you recognize the contradiction? Then somewhere Maya lied.
You're forgetting a lot with this "beard" thing. Already in the library, Sage asks whether the MC is Maya's boyfriend or not. Then we continue with a decision when greeting Patrick. Does the MC play it cool or does he kiss Maya in front of Patrick. And ultimately Sage will find out at the dinner table so that the MC is Maya's boyfriend and Sage will realize so that the MC was honest with her from the beginning, i.e. in EP1, when the MC said to Sage so that he doesn't have any friends yet . Sage is grateful for this, so she has found true friends. That's what the game is about, putting the MC's words into action through the player's decisions. Words are just words and when actions are opposite to the words spoken, then they are lies.
Josy's heart is on her sleeve. Maya is more subtle and she's introvert. Replay all previous scenes with Maya and they will all be about sex too or about Maya's problems and her past partially. They NEVER talked about feelings. Maya acts subtle. Like, by asking MC in Gender 101 class "do you like me?" and game remember this choice. In EP1 she asked MC not to be attracted to her. And game remember MC response too.
Josy doesn't talk openly about her feelings either, but she doesn't know how to hide them, and her body language, her glance, and everything else speak for themselves. That's the difference.
Why? Because Throuple got the most late commitment among MGs - at the end of EP9. Before that moment they tried to behave and keep all those emotions low to not blow up later if something will go wrong. But even so, the break up with Throple was terrible, because hiding feelings does not mean not experiencing them and does not mean that they did not grow with every day spent together. And even Sage notes that she is not even standing next to them on an emotional level.
You don't have to write that to me because I know that. Nevertheless, Maya and Josy have the problem Patrick and the easiest solution is still to make Patrick believe that Maya is heterosexual. It's about Maya's college fees. I'm still afraid that Josy and Maya will screw the MC because the MC is a DIK in terms of affinity. They take advantage of the DIK MC like many DIKs take advantage of other girls.
Patrick obviously happy and he can't believe his eyes, in a good way. He said "I'm sorry" to Maya at the kitchen, and according to how Maya took it in, he haven't said something like that for years to her. She even asked him again "You are sorry?"
That's exactly the problem. Although Patrick apologizes to Maya in the kitchen, he is incredulous at the dinner table so that Maya and the MC are a couple.
"It is certainly something out of the ordinary."
What is there not to understand about this sentence from Patrick? Patrick knows that Josy and Maya were in a homosexual relationship. Patrick doesn't believe Maya and the MC. He only realizes it when he touches Maya roughly and the MC appears angry.
