This game is kinda overrated imo. I mean it's a good game, but I don't think it stands out very much from other 3d render hentai games, hell it even largely uses the same assets you see in the rest and everything.
Worst thing about it besides how drawn out it can get at parts (you often go kinda long without getting any sex scenes in this) is that it's also using that stupid episode release model that just doesn't work well for games in the first place, no matter how you try to spin it. Nobody wants to play ep 1 through 10 from separate executables, it's a convoluted mess to release like that, everyone would rather take a whole game than that kind of mess; how anyone could think it's a good idea is beyond me.
It seems to be working out for this guy for some mysterious reason, but it's an edge case in that regard. Most games that try to go the episodic route just plain fail.

In the brief time I was in the server, it reminded me of Pleasantville. Or The Truman Show. Or that one episode of TNG where Wesley was going to be executed for accidentally ruining some flowers.

I agree and disagree. I do think people think the story is overrated as I often hear came for the porn stayed for the story in this game. But I 100% disagree when it comes to the characters as the characters in this game are some of the best ive seen in the 120 or so AVN's ive played. Not many are nearly as good as most of the ones in this game. Now I won't say all of them are great but I do think most of them are including side girls.
lol wait what this is has be a joke or a fail attempt at trolling. Unless you purposely play slow burn paths and not going for side girls this game either has a good balance or to much sex at times.

Which is 100% false it does not use separate executables for each episode. It only has 2 1 for Season 1 and 2 and Season 3. Now I won't say it's a fact the episode model does or doesn't work well as that is a matter of your personal opinion. But frankly I hate it when games don't use that model as it's more confusing to me when it's based on version number instead of episode / chapter.

This sounds like you're just trying to stir something, it just comes across as disingenuous. If that's what you feel about the game, it suggests that you're not playing it "properly", you're just skipping through it for the lewd scenes. It's not a game that's just about that, there's a lot more to it that you need to actually follow the story for. If you're looking for just a sex game, then I can see why you might think it's not as good as it's made out to be. Also, it's fine not to like a popular game, everyone has different tastes and opinions.
Plus, ten executables? Where is that from? I have 10eps and an interlude from just two executables, and that split is only because it got too big to be unweildy... And I've seen plenty of games that use an episodic system, and it's not the big fail you for some reason think it is.
As for why DPC is doing well from it/why the game is successful? It's a long-running game with lots of content. It's generally considered to have good writing, good-looking renders, good-looking girls and scenes. It's not really that much of a surprise that it's doing well.
