Bro there's still a lot of dumb young people who'll judge everyone for everything. The US is full of them even if they find it hot at the same time. Plus if someone was already feeling judged by their family like Maya, the chances are extremely likely that they won't want to reveal everything in college. If you can't trust your family to embrace you, why would you trust a bunch of idiot frat and sorority kids? If you've never felt accepted growing up, why would you feel accepted in a community full of strangers? Maya's just not ready to come out to every person she meets.

If someone's getting shit talked about them, then the person talking shit already judged that they're below them

It'd be nice if Josy won the poll. Definitely would help this game feel like it's not playing favorites :p
We're talking Judging her specially for her sexual preferences, in this day and age where there is a whole community built up to protect her and the schools hold such harassment in high regard when reported.. I find it hard to intake as a plot point.

And false... shit talking is shit talking... You're putting too much stock into it dude... Sarah obviously doesn't like Maya... But that could simply be because Maya is hotter then her obviously And holds more personal value..

I just started playing this for the first time. So nice to see more decent VN's. Been at it all night and I just started Ep3.

Not really sure how the alignment works with the girls though, I seem to be ok with mostly everyone and yet I'm mostly at neutral. (not really by choice, just going with what feels natural) Hope that doesn't mean I'll miss out on most stuff that way.

Jill and Isabella best girls btw.

Hated Chad at the start but at the point where I am now I feel sorry for him.
I think it's more to it then that Imo...

If we are all SOOOOOO enlightened, why is it that almost everyone on this thread (including me) is laughing our collective ass off over the speculation that Chad has a gay lover? I am sure that at least a few of us (not I, any longer) are part of that 'whole community' you write of.

One community does not mean that suddenly everyone is okay with it. Even if they are, what's actually happening is that Maya is uncomfortable with anyone knowing that she's bi because she fears she will be judged. I don't see how that's a hard point to believe. Have you never met anyone that's part of the LGBT community and has been uncomfortable with revealing that without getting to know the person first?

Development news
Regarding Being a DIK development, 57 animations are fully completed and I have about 20 posed animations in the render queue.
Does anyone know how this compares to other episodes/updates?

Well if that is the case with Sarah then that pretty much right there is judging her it's not this shit-talking you keep coming up with her she is judging her looks just imagine how much she will judge her if she finds out about her sexuality, this is exactly the reason why Maya hides it younger people can be equally as cruel when it comes to these issues.

A poster on DrPinkCake's Patreon site asked this question: "I’m curious to see what’s going to happen when you go full time, do you imagine being able to do the updates faster or will you be improving quality and/or working on other projects as well, such as the acting lessons renders?"

DrPinkCake responded: "Faster, not likely. Every update I've had my PCs rendering 24/7; it can't go faster than that unless I upgrade my equipment further. Higher quality, yes. I will have more time to write and think. The updates won't be or feel stressed and I will have full focus on making the game as good as I can make it, instead of splitting my time with another job.

I plan to do more community things and I have some pretty fun plans for future seasons of Being a DIK that will require me to code a lot.

But I will also get more time for family/friends/health, which has been borderline non-existent for 1.5 years. That's something that will keep me from burning out and keep me going. All in all, there are many benefits to it for all of us. But we will see what it brings when it's time, I will let my results speak for themselves. Right now, I'm just extremely hyped to start.
