I realize that the interlude was a separate work squeezed in between 8&9, but it was never released as a solo update. it was released as part of episode 9's update. So I really don't get why it factors into the update cycle. That's misleading. And like it or not it *is* part of the story. So in the end that list should be rectified to "2022 - 5829 still renders and 339 animations (Interlude + Episode 9 December)" We did NOT get 2 updates in 2022.
No it wasn't, Interlude came out in Feburary March 2022 (will edit original in a moment). Origninal release post below.

Testing is going well. We are currently evaluating the save transfer system and haven't encountered any big bugs yet.

Because of the current state, I feel confident enough to announce the release date for the Interlude.

The release dates of Interlude - Riding the Waves here on Patreon are:

View attachment 1671702

Huge DIK tier and above (+$25): Friday, March 4

DIK tier and above ($10/$15): Monday, March 7

Mini DIK tier ($5): Friday, March 18

Mini DIK tier information
The Mini DIK tier ($5) will grant access to the base Season 3 game for this release on March 18th. You can patch this version in the future from the Mini DIK tier.

When Episode 9 is released, the base game is found in the DIK tier, and patches will be available from the Mini DIK tier.

Interlude information
The Interlude is the first update of Season 3.

You can expect an hour-long episode focusing on Zoey.

The update is roughly 2.6 GB. This means you will need at least 5.2 GB to unzip the folder.

Furthermore, you will need to have saved at the end of Season 2 to play Season 3. You can play Season 3 using saves from the end of Steam, GOG, and Patreon versions.

This release is for Patreon only. Steam and GOG will get the full Season 3 when it's fully developed.

I hope this information is clear enough. If not, I'll try my best to answer your questions below.

Love

But being real, I would've considered a Bella/Jill threesome totally out of the question if it weren't for the bench scene in Episode 9, and Jill not destroying her pic of MC. Still very unlikely, I won't pretend otherwise.

I can maybe see Jill having a threesome at some point down the line, but Bella feels way too fucking weird to be within character.

Jill/Sage however… well that is somewhat more believable.

Well, fuck me sideways from Uranus.
'cause all I can recall is waiting for it and waiting for it, and was only able to play it when Ep9 hit the shelves.

Either way, thanks for setting me straight.
I'm still scratching my head as to how it flew under my radar like that....

They were 2 separate releases. Interlude came out in early months of 2022, about 3-4 months after the release of Ep8. There were months of whining of DPC wasting time with the Interlude instead of jumping straight to Ep9.

Will somebody be so kind and tell me when the next episode will drop. I see here even march 2025, but to be honest I did not read back hundreds of posts. If that is correct the wait will be super long. Normally it drops december as X mas present.

And another question. What will happen with the sancho mod? Is a volunteer found to take this over? Else I will start tomorrow with replaying without a mod and go on when the update arrives.

Nods, I recall the moaning about the extra wait about it. But as I pointed out a couple posts above it sort of snuck under my radar. Because just the release poster for it doesn't even look familiar to me, at all. I can remember all the talk about it, and everyone saying that the story could have gone without it and all that stuff. But the actual release, nada.

Which is really weird seeing as I check in on the forums regularly. Even though I was using an older account back then, that is now lost due to some severe hardware failures, as well as me switching my domain email to a new one (which made the recovery for it impossible as that old email was now invalid).

So it must have snuck by me while I was building my new rig. Regardless that being a lame excuse, I Can't remember if I had checked the OP to see a new release version or not. Bleh.

But I do remember all the talk about DPC spending time making it. Back then I figured people we're just bickering back and forth about not liking Zoey that it was ultimately not worth the extra work etc, and didn't give it more thought than just that. Didn't realize I had been offline that long to miss it. I'd had loved to have played it (I like Zoey).

Anyhow, this reply is too long already. But yeh, I was off, WAY off...

Sage cannot even wait? Bad Sage

It'd be better if these girls roamed around in slutty outfits in school, or even normally too... That's just what I don't like about this game, it's too realistic lol.
For eg. imagine Sage in school roaming around in that outfit (no panties underneath is a plus)
p.s.: that's why my favourite character is Elena coz she's always seen in nothing but her underwear lol:p
Aand realistically I like Sarah..
Initially they kinda did roam around pretty slutty like.

First time we see Maya she's looking like a stripper:

Riona's not wearing much hanging out with the Jocks (and continues to wear the same outfit around campus):

Sage, Quinn and Cammy are wearing fuck all when Maya's giving the mc the tour:

And Elena you already mentioned:

And Derek...

It's only later that they start getting all respectable...:cautious:

Correct.

Even more precisely, reducing production time would be against his own economic interest, since he is payed by the month and not by delivery.

The longer it takes, the more he earns :HideThePain:

---

I reckon that if were in his position I would probably do the same.

I reckon that I'm not in his position because I don't have his technical and artistic skills and I don't even have his social skills.

I reckon that latest episodes are technically more complex than the first ones and they have much more contents, so expecting them in 4 months would be unrealistic.

That being said, complaining about the useless stuff has not the function of fixing that (not gonna happen).

It's just the meager consolation of pointing out that the emperor has no clothes... :HideThePain:

Call it my coping mechanisms for both:

- my frustration of watching his fanboys so eager to justify everything he does just to drag out the production time

- my envy because he can pull it off, and I can't.
there is only one scenario for which DPC could accelerate with BADIK: DPC has another story in mind that it wants to tell and for which it is motivated to close BADIK and move on to the new one.

it's not a far-fetched scenario: for me DPC is quite fed up with BADIK, and if he already had a real INSPIRATION for the next work it would hardly hurt him financially, he would start with a very strong hype

Hi there

This week I have playing a new game and as I'm running out of ideas, I have decided to play with minigames for the first time (almost)

Why didn't I play with minigames before?

When I played (and quit) BADIK for the first time, I tried to play with minigames and it was a disaster so I deleted this first run (I didn't reach the second episode) and I started another game without the f*ck*ng minigames. When I started playing BADIK again, I played the first runs without them, but after reading in this thread about them, I decided to continue without them
But the last week, I thought... They can be so bad, right? Short answer, yes they are :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

My review about the minigames (until episode 8)

- Brawler: At the beginning, it can be annoying, but after you level up a bit DEX and POW, it can be almost entertaining. If I had to choose one, this would be my favorite
- Shuffle and Triple tile: I have played similar games in the past and after a couple of games, they starts to be boring
- Math class: This the easiest game and one of the less annoying. Classic logic game
- Gender studies class: Having to read carefully a bunch of feminists is not the best experience, but taking some notes while they talk make the game easy enough
- English class: English is not my first language, I can read and write good enough but I have some problems with this game
- Drinking games: I hate them. You need to be a really quick and steady hand and even then, I think the game just hates me
- Various games (tennis, pancakes): They aren't the worst but they are useless and there are too many of them
- Mansion repair: What the hell was thinking DPC when he design this shit?:mad::mad::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I have played some management games and I can say I am good enough, but this one has been the most annoying I have played

So, after this run I will apply the "no minigames" rule, and I will finish this post asking... How many of you play the minigames when you start a new game?:unsure:;);)

Back to the discussion of dev times. I can't help but wonder if Dev times would speed up if DPC would omit the behind the scenes changes he implemented for things like the animations from 30 to 60fps. With how much content and complexity that is now inevitable, would it even make a difference at this point? Were we moaning about that for nothing?

I mean considering that now episodes will take more than a year per, would saving 3 weeks extra wait really be that much a big deal anymore?
It's not a matter of only 3 weeks if you consider that rendering the animations takes double the time. Then, there also also the minigames that took him a lot of time, at least detracting it from other aspects more strictly related to the plot (extra scenes, more cured static renderings and so on).

You got what is paid for. If they pay to an author without a sexual imagination, they deserved to see all that boring default stuff. Nothing more. And the author feeling fine with that also, why should he make more interesting and complex scenes if he can recieve money even for primitive as hell stuff? No reason it all. So both are guilty. Donators who paying for nothing interesting, and the nothing-interesting-doer himself. But the starting point of fixing it should goes from donators demand, because it is clearly sure that the author by himself is going to deliver only boring stuff, untill he'd get hit by the most painfull place of his entireself. Nope, that

There are VN which are quite fine or close to fine about storytelling, like Inside Jennifer, or The East Block, or something, but some different non default stuff already in the content there. So focusing on storytelling can't be an excuse for totally boring scenes design.

Not an argument. The porn game have to be interesting, that's the law. To make all boring scenes - it is a crime. For all and everywhere.
I think some aspects of your complaints are understandable, but your general judgment is not very fair, it seems very forced to me. Yes, it is true that DPC does not have that great imagination or ability in the sex scenes that he has in the comical aspects or plots (always in relation to the world of AVN obviously), but in any case the sex scenes are average, they are not among the best but they are not worse than what is normally seen around.
I would have expected more from Bella's scenes too, I even wrote it months ago, given that the character has an intrinsic erotic charge due to her appearance on the limits of human morphology. Bella's dialogues during sex are among the worst, in some cases practically non-existent, for example the scene on the dining table.
Yes, DPC is rather awkward with the erotic aspect, but he is in good company. Your judgment can be applied to 90% of VNs.

But your judgment on the entire VN cannot be based solely on this, you seem not to take into consideration everything else, it is precisely what makes it the most followed and appreciated VN currently. This does not mean that it is the best in all aspects, on the contrary, but the overall evaluation escapes you. Bearing in mind that if you find it bland in the sexual component, and for you it is fundamental, it is clearly a VN not suited to your tastes.

Initially I had the games enabled in 2 runs, the original one which we could refer to as ‘all LIs’ and the DIK run, which is the only run where you actually need more money and so it can make sense to leave yourself the opportunity to constantly earn money with games.

the last chapter convinced me to do them again by disabling the minigames

so currently no minigames active in any run

When I start playing BaDIK I did play the mini games

Math is the easiest for me so it pose no challenge

The english is kinda annoying because of time limit and the number of words needs to type is quite alot so I use the official walkthrough which provides the words

Drinking game and painting game almost have the same mechanic and took me sometime to get the hang of it.

The gender class annoys me because you need to really listen to what they spout.

The mansion repair mini game gives me the most headache because it's a trial and error but I got lucky and saves the car of Rusty but it took me the most of time to complete because it needs to balance the work load the skill set and money to win this

The brawler in ep 1 to 8 is easier for me compare to ep 10 it took me alot of time I mean before I beat Troy out of it heck even now I'm still trying to win the match against the trainer and i'm still not successful.

I can rant about the other mini games but this post will be too long and I won't bore you out

My conclusion is some of the mini games are great brain teaser but others are down right sadistic (i'm talking to you chem and brawler)you need to be a complete masochist just to 100% this mini games without using the cheat you buy to Derek
